Our teacher is old school and demands that we use a black or blue pen to write all of our papers. sometimes I forget and will be almost done but just go to the next line and dont skip. Pisses me off. On Word 2004 all of 1 second really.

Word has been doing it the same way since version 1998, ZeroX.  Not to mention 1 second is pretty unrealistic unless you're trying to double space your paper as fast as you can, which is pretty doubtful.

Incidentally, your teacher sucks.  They make you type in pen?  That makes a whole lot of sense! ;P

I knew what you meant, by the way. :P

"All of two seconds" is a phrase that isn't supposed to be taken literally, if you didn't notice.  It's effectively a hyperbole.  Exaggerating a hyperbole should get you lynched. :P

fucking iagos Host. BAH I typed something to go along with that but I guess it didnt post on the forum. Let me re type it.

MLA format is basically re posting your thoughts over and over. You start off in your intro paragraph that lets the reader know what the Essay is going to be about. Then you give 3 specfic details about your said topic. Then 3 paragraphs going in detail about said specifs. Then a conclusion restating your thesis.

Bunch of bull shit if you ask me.

Modern Language Association (http://www.mla.org) MUCH more than what you've described.  It is one of a few associations that set standards for the English language.  While it is frustrating, it's a very sensical and, in my opinion, nearly required type of organization.  Personally, I don't like their standards.  I was taught differently as a child and don't find much sense in most of their standards when I compare them to mine; people are biased towards opinions gained in childhood, though.

This (http://www.liquid-server.org/stuff/hal.feb10b.pdf) is the final version, which I believe is crap, and which I turned in earlier today.  BTW: it's formal.
