Title: The English Lanague
Post by: Sidoh on February 12, 2006, 05:53:16 PM
Sucks, obviously.  Here's a story revolving around its retardedness:

My friend gave my sister a ride home and she thought his truck was awfully dirty. She took it upon herself to clean it. The next day, our foreign exchange student was sitting in the back. For some reason, the subject of him taking a dump in the back came up. He then said "Haha, then you have to ride Chris' sister so she clean your truck again!" I was like "You ass!" He didn't understand what was wrong with what he said. We all knew he meant "You'll have to give Chris' sister a ride so she'll clean your truck again!" But that's not what he said. Haha, my friend was bellowing in laughter for another two minutes.

Giving your sister a ride doesn't sound that much better than riding her, as far as sexual innuendo goes.

Haha, it does when you were a part of the conversation.  I guess slang language is different here or something. :\

Your slang doesn't include the phrase "dickride"? Damn, I live in the ghetto.

I was "ragging" on GameSnake because he repeatedly misspelled the name of an ultra-famous philosopher.  I know how to spell language.  It was a typo:

That's friggin sweet!

I took french my freshmen yr of highschool.  My french teacher (from Argentina who had only been to Switzerland & not Frnace) was new to english & the US.  Actually it was her first yr in the US & 3rd year speaking english.
We always laughed when she said a "shit" of paper & small funnies.

However, one time we came into class & she was all upset & got us quiet.  It went down sorta like this:
<funny Argentenian english accent>
"Class, quiet.  We need to talk.  There is a very serious matter.  When cleaning (or something) I found a raped book under the desk."
</funny Argentenian accent thing>

We BUSTED out laughing & then she got PO'D at us for laughing about the raped (ripped) book.
We explained it to her & eventually she calmed down & it turned out to be someone in another class (we were the good class).

I helped my uncle, Jack, off a horse.
I helped my uncle Jack off a horse.
Something like that... I say if it's punctuation or capitalization thing like...
I helped my uncle, Jack, off a horse.
I helped my uncle jack-off a horse.

It's not.

QuoteGrammar is the difference between your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse.

That quote is missing a "helping" between "your" and "Uncle"

ROFL!

Haha, I was probably distracted with an IM, a thought on a strictly unrelated matter or a phone call. ;)
