Hey people, I'm new. I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada...I go to Tec Voc (High school) I like Light Rock music (Nickelback, Defualt, etc.) I do not have a girl friend and I'm not looking, I used to be in clan DoE but the leader one day all of a sudden left. I know Newby and a few others from here. I wanted to join this forum because I thought it might be some fun and I noticed that this is a technical/computer clan also and I am highly interested in technology. I have read the rules. My favourite TV show would probably be disaster detectives because it includes many plane crashes/problems and my dad is a pilot for Air Canada and I am very interesting in aviation, My favourite OS would be (at the moment) FreeBSD (linux) and Windows XP. Favourite drink would be pepsi...Favourite phone company would be MTS (Manitoba Telecom Services or Telus Mobility. I would say Dell would be my favourite computer brand....Homemade computers would be my favourite. Favourite linix distrobution would be Slackware or FreeBSD. My favourite sport would be Nascar or Baseball...My favourite PC game is Battle Field 2 and CS:S and Guild Wars. I like RPG's and Shooters. My favourite pet would be a dog and fish.
FreeBSD isn't Linux.
But in any case, welcome.
Eh, everytime I actually read through someone's intro, it seems a little stretched in truth sometimes.. like why would you say your favoruite Linux distro is FreeBSD? That's UNIX and not even a real desktop OS (I mean its more of a server OS). It's OKAY if your not a nerd, it's OKAY if you dont program!

I don't think so. Believe it or not, people like doing things differently than you!

Maybe because it is his favorite OS? (It's not Linux, but okay).

Plenty of people use FreeBSD/NetBSD on their desktops. It's a very secure OS.

It's also okay if he is a nerd. Personally, I'd find it easdier to relate to him if he was -- not that I really care.

It's perfectly acceptable as a desktop OS. Next time I reformat, I'm most likely installing FreeBSD. :P

Welcome to the forums.
As you can see everyone here is VERY opinionated, but don't take offense to it. :)
The forum is not opiniated.

All generalizations are false!
Are you a real life friend with our lovely yago? He lives in Winterpeg too. I'm thinking of moving there when I graduate, but lately (since last night) I've been thinking of going to Evangel Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, because a friend of mine (Johnathan) is going there next year.
Stop using horizontal rules, they're stupid. -_-

Joe, if you go there you will live right next to me. Once I graduate this year we are moving to Springfield, Missouri. :) I don't really want to, but atleast it will only be 1.5 hours away from UMR instead of the 5 I would travel now. :(
Awesometastic!
Welcome!

Oh, how's that? Even if I am the only one to use it, I like them, and until someone who doesn't seem to hate me steps up and says it's really annoying them and they aren't just looking to start an argument (it worked, hehe), I'll keep using them.

Rarely are the arguments I enter started just because I felt like an argument. It's beacuse I disagree with someone's point of view or what they're doing.
If you want reasoning, here it is: it looks as if it's part of your signature when you use them. I sometimes skip half of your post because it's separated by that. I know it's because I'm not paying attention, but you could save me the agonizing pain! :(
Incidentally, I don't hate you. You just get on my nerves, really, really easily.
[hr] is dumb?
I never realized that.
:(

That tends to happen a lot. :D

I agree, the first time I saw you use it I thought it was apart of your signature until I actually looked at it. :)

And I will be the first person to admit that I have a very argumentative personality. I'm very aware that some people find it annoying (in fact, I've recently grown much further appart from a pretty good friend because of it -- it's almost purely me suppressing the annoyances he inflicts upon me), but I don't really care. It's just how I am.

Well atleast you are comfortable with who you are. :)

From a logical point of view, there's absolutely nothing wrong with argument. Usually, in a decent argument, points can be made that involve personal attacks/sacrifice. That's where it becomes a burden. I, obviously, don't mind much. I just like debate. :\

I think I'd get on your nerves less easily if you did skip half my post. =p
