I don't think that extent is ever necessary, but I'm sure school officials have consistently observed MySpace interfering with classroom activities.

That's foolish.  I understand the concerns, but the ability you remove by attempting to avoid possible problems with this solution is huge.

... That is ridiculous.  I fail to follow any path of logic that would result in such a radical conclusion.

School officals: Due to the Myspace proxy use we have been finding on students accounts the local sites have been blocked. "blah blah blah" We also feel that Google should be blocked as well becuase most of the proxies students use come from their search engine.

My school has got you all beat... well, at least they did.  There was a point in time where they blocked all search engines, all email services, and all forums.  Needless to say, that wasn't a very productive week in the tech lab.

Hahaha.

They should just limit speed going to MySpace.com to like, 1 Kb/s

I think Mayfield (my highschool) takes the cake.

They blocked EVERY website.  When you wanted to go to the lab you had to submit a list of sites you were going to visit beforehand.  Searching for anything must've been ridiculous!
