Title: Installing Asian Charsets
Post by: rabbit on April 26, 2006, 06:59:30 PM
Okay, so this basically arises out of two needs:
1. To see all the stuff Ergot types in Chinese
2. To see some websites correctly

I followed a couple guides to install the fonts themselves, and I did it all, but it still doesn't work.  I only need them for browsing, not for the system itself, or anything.  Anyone know?

Well, you're gonna have to put 'em in your fonts directory. That's how I did TrueType anyways. :/

I did that :\
/etc/fonts/fonts.conf
        <dir>/usr/share/fonts</dir>
        <dir>/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF</dir>
        <dir>/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1</dir>
        <dir>/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype</dir>
        <dir>~/.fonts</dir>

Go HumanReadable!  It works now.
