Pretty nifty.
Hopefully this will give us a reason to not waste billions of dollars rebuilding a poorly placed city.

The reason that the city is there is also the reason that it's a fantastically-placed city: it's an amazing natural port.
Or, maybe this time around we will have people that will actually leave when the president says to and maybe have a better levee system.

a nearby city would be cool...but not right there...its awesome for a port I understand, but not a city.
Yeah, you have to weigh the pros and cons. Sure, it's a great port, but if it's going to be destroyed every 100 years or whatever, you have to stop and wonder...
I'd say we can just increase the amount of awareness about issues and evacuate them safely. The same about destruction can be said for most cities on the coast of America. Especially west coast cities due to Earthquakes and Tsunamis.
Yeah, that's a good point. The west coast is not the safest place to be, and if I was living in LA I'd be worried. It may not happen today, and it may not happen tomorrow, and it may not even happen within my life time, but LA is not going to last forever. At least, not if I understand the facts properly.

thank God! ;)
I don't have a problem spending money rebuilding the city if we make it better and more able to cope with hurricanes. I do have a problem with giving money to the people from New Orleans to do with as they please. IIRC, someone was able to receive a sex change on the government's dime.

yeah, they got debit cards with like $5k?...some people just blew it on whatev. also, lots of people have been making bogus FEMA claims.
I thought there was a Life of Brian related thing, but after reading and then noticing it was things not life, I became disapointed. :(
