Awesome game.  I'll explain more when I figure out what's going on, but so far it's amazing!

Omg!  Is it going to come out on the PS2?!  I've wanted this game since I watched some of the trailers a couple of years ago... I would definitely imagine that they're going to wait for the PS3 (or maybe not, since it's been in development for so long...), but you probably know!

Hrmmmm.......if I had a PS2, I'd love to give it a try.

Although, I don't know if I've ever been a Final Fantasy person. Final Fantasy VII was awesome beyond words, but I never finished one after that. Started many, but the rest never seemed to live up to the magic that was Final Fantasy VII in my eyes; I could never find that same magic in a Final Fantasy game as I did in Final Fantasy VII.  Sure, I tried FFVIII, IX, X, and X-2, but none of them captured me the way VII did.

Sidoh, it's already out on PS2.  I'm currently playing the Japanese version.  The NA version is out October 31st.  XII is like XI in terms of world system, though I've never played XI so I can't say either way.  Anyway, it's really fun, except for the time when I got owned by a T-Rex ><  Once I found a guide for the License Grid (like the Sphere Grid, but less sucky, and a lot better), my life became a lot easier.  Right now my clock is just over 10 hours, and I'm only level 13, and that's with a lot of battles.  I can't wait to see the rest of the game :D

AC and SW were both pretty, but they also both sucked.

Okay, here's what I understand so far:

In Ivalice (FFT world), Archadia and [some other country] are fighting a proxy war with each other, and Archadia is pretty much winning.  Archadia invades a small country called Dalmasca (setting for most of the game [so far]).  The seven princes of Dalmasca die in the invasion.  A guy named Reks (I thought it was Lex, but w/e) meets up with Basch some other Dalmascan soldiers.  The lot of them storm the Dalmascan castle to try to rescue the king.  Reks and the soldiers hold off some Archadians while Basch goes into the throne room.  After the battle, Reks also goes into the throne room, but only to discover than Basch has slain the king and his envoy.  Reks is confused and asks why.  Basch tells Reks that the king sold Dalmasca to Archadia and let the invasion happen.  Vayne (Prince of Archadia) and his soldiers enter the throne room, kill Reks, and arrest Basch.  Basch is labeled as a traitor in Dalmasca because he killed the king.

Two years later, you take control of Vaan.  Vaan is an orphen & pickpocket on the streets of Rabanastre (Dalmasca's capitol).  The country is now run by Judge Ghis.  Vayne arrives and makes a huge speech.  (My Japanese sucks but basically he says stop fighting.)  Vaan meets up with Penelo afterwards, and goes down to lower Rabanastre aftewards (the sewers).

I've got that much figured out.  I know sort of what happens, but not entirely...arg my Japanese SUUUUUUUUCKSs, I wish I knew more :X
