Turns out that police & city employees run redlights & get caught by the cameras alot.
Sad part, some of the bus drivers are suing the city because they get fined for running the red lights.
I dislike the part about the city preemptively paying for the tickets. The city employees should have the right to argue their case in court.

I think thats the basis for the lawsuit
...no due process
Well, they also said only uniformed police officers have the right to ticket you, which I think is bullshit. If you're breaking the law, you're breaking the law.
See, if busses are moving at a decent speed full of people, they can't stop for lights turning red without people ending up on the ground, I've been on busses that have had to stop fast, it's not pretty. So I totally understand bus drivers running reds.

No, it's surprisingly hard to stay standing when a fast-moving bus stops fast. Especially for old people and children.
Haha...iago stands up on the bus :P
Sitting is where it's at, expecially when my bus ride is 90 minutes :X
thats why we have yellow lights.....
we were on a bus in albuquerque that FLAT OUT ran a red light. there were cars coming other direction & all, bus driver just kept going...I was sitting up front-ish & started like FREAKIN OUT when he wasnt stopping, it was hilarious afterwards though

And if a yellow light comes up with them close enough to stop, but not far enough away that the stop will be safe, they should stop anyway?
@ Topic title:
News about New Mexico is about as interesting as news about Joe's friends. :P

I stand on the bus only when I have to. My bus ride was between 60 and 90 minutes depending in traffic, but it was usually pretty busy, so often there wouldn't be room to sit down. Busses get packed tight!

They aren't long enough for a full bus that's moving at a decent speed.

I wasn't making fun of you. I said that would only be fun if the bus was full of retards.

If its full of Mexicans its gonna be FULL of MEXICANS...no room to fall.
...at least thats how the Mexicans get around in my city, but they're usually all packed into the cab & bed of trucks
