I'm looking for an image previewer (like XP's "Fax and Image Viewer"). I have pictures I want to look at and be able to click a "next" button or something, and I have no intention of editing them. Anything out there you guys know of?
I use a program called "slideshow+", which does a little slideshow of the pictures. It's not the best for it, but I haven't needed anything better.
Failing that, I use Opera. Shift-X or left-then-right click to browse through a folder.
KView, there's several others that I don't remember off the top of my head.

Haha. I use Opera to look at porn too!

That sounds like something out of KDE, which I didn't install and don't want to.
What made it sould like that, rabbit? :P
I don't know what it's called, but theres a program that's almost exactly like Windows XP's viewer in GNOME.

You don't need to install KDE to get the programs, I think. You just have to install the suite. Unless you can't install that without installing KDE.. dunno.

gimageview hands down ...
THE best image/movie previewer around! This thing resembles XP's file explorer and gives you a nice thumbnail view of your image/movie files ... it can even peak into archive file formats like zip, tar, rar and so forth.
EDIT: I made a better pic of the program:

I didn't say nuffin' about porn!
Opera is complaining about me not having libqt-mt.so.3, and I litterally CAN'T start the downloads for it I've found.

Install opera with static qt.
EDIT: Yeah, on the opera download page, select "Static/RPM" or "Static/DEB" for the distribution, then select "Static Qt package".
Qt is only really used by KDE...you shouldn't need to install any of the Qt stuff just to use Opera.
Yeah, when it asks you for your distro, pick "other, tgz" or something. There might be a checkbox to ensure that it's a tgz.
What nslay said worked. Though I guess I was wrong when I chose "Slackware 9.1, 10.0, 10.2" :\

They probably assumed you were using KDE ... that's the only reason Qt would be installed.
Sorry for bumping, but Picasa, made by Google, sounds promising. It's still beta for its Linux version, but it might be worth a shot.
