ACM hosted "ACM Computer Science Jeopardy," which I referred to as "nerd jeopardy." Some company out of Wyoming sponsored it and bought 30 GB iPod Videos for first place and 4 GB iPod Nanos for second place. All other contestents got an iPod Shuffle. My team (all Freshman) got second next to a team containing the TA for my CS classes! It was a blast. :)

Are you going to keep it or resell it? (because I've been looking to get a nano so that I could get the nike ipod thing for running.)
Neat. 4gb of music wouldn't be enough for me without it being a hassle to change music, but I guess it's a lot better than my 512mb shuffle (which is collecting dust on my desk upstairs. :P).

I feel the same way :)
You should install Linux on it, you'll be able to watch videos and crap. and Congrats.

I think the nano's display is an array of (huge) black/clear pixels, not an LCD, but I could be wrong.

You're definitely wrong.

Is that... a Half-Life doom mod, or something? I don't remember having a gun that early in Half Life, nor having that horrible bobbing thing going.
Yeah, it's a half-life doom mod. If you look at it, the NPC's aren't even moving.

Exactly. Why get a nano if you can't watch video?
As a general disclaimer: I already have a 60 GB iPod video.

I'm going to give it to my mom.

I agree, which is why I'm not going to use it. ;)

Deadly, same question about your shuffle. Selling it?

Possibly. I'm still trying to see if I can find some sort of use for it.. because I
do go running. :p But I also want to be able to hear past the age of twenty, and blasting metal inside my ears all day wouldn't help.
So I'm still debating.. because my brother also said that I should sell it. And that's $60-$70 that I could use to buy a couple of books that I've wanted.

Blasting won't help, but playing it at a moderate - somewhat loud volume wouldn't hurt.

$60-$70? Nevermind, the new ones are debuting for $79, they're 1gb, come with a dock, and are in a more convienent shape, AND they clip.

Yeah, the people who didn't get first or second (7 other teams, 21 people) were getting those. They had to fill out a card and the company (OCI) would send them to the address they specified when they are released.

Yeah, but you wouldn't get kickass DragonForce neg DRM with your new Shuffle, now would you?
He could get it from newby if he so desired.
I wouldn't get what?
ZUNE FTW.

No.
Zune adds its own DRM to music you put on it. What kind of BS is that?

Yeah, which makes it illegal to use it with Creative Commons' licensed music. That makes me laugh :)
