Title: The RIAA actually has influence...
Post by: Newby on October 20, 2006, 09:45:41 PM
...as Creative's new firmware for the Zen disables FM recording. (http://www.tech2.com/india/news/portable-mp3-audio-players/creative-disables-fm-recording-in-zen/2351/0)

Sure, it never says anything about the RIAA, but who the hell cares if you can record FM recording?

The RIAA. That's who! They're the only people desperate enough to make a case out of nothing.

They have no influence in Canada!

Apparently, when recording industry people (dunno if it's the RIAA or whatever) tried to sue people in Canada and Australia, they were taken to court and charges were dismissed due to total lack of credible evidence.  Since that happened, they haven't had any influence in either country :)
