Yep, tommorow afternoon!
http://mozillalinks.org/wp/2006/10/firefox-2-review/
And it was accidentally released earlier today :( Too bad I didn't catch that.
Don't be a whore and eat their bandwidth. Wait until tomorrow.
I hope this version supports adblock :-\. Last time I updated, the plugin stopped working, and my life slowly unraveled.

If it doesn't I won't upgrade. Infact, I'll wait a few days just to make sure it works when I upgrade.
Release damnit! Release!!

RC3 was released on the 16th. That is the latest. Not the actual 2.0.
It's officially released now. :)

Yeah, and alt-s is now "History".
I've already broken old habits and started using tab-space for submitting forum posts and alt-left/alt-right for backwards and forwards.

Mouse gesters rule! I'm actually considering giving FireFox another try. iago, you'd mentioned that there was an addon for mouse gestues for firefox, correct? That's probably one of the things I'd miss most about opera if I did start using firefox again.

Yes, there are at least two addons that do mouse gestures. I don't know which, if any, support FireFox 2.0 yet.

What is a mouse gester?
Are you talking about the Zorro extension thing, where you can make gestures* with your mouse, and it does things? Now _that_ is a neat plugin. :D
Not upgrading for a tad bit, don't like things breaking. I was forced to upgrade to Gaim beta, and all hell broke loose. Not going through that again.

I knew it was spelt wrong :P Woot for spell check!
I like the small graphic changes & the built in spell checkery thing

Google Toolbar (pretty much) made Firefox have a built in spell checker. I sort of suspect that it is/was more functional and accurate than the one that comes with firefox now as well. The way it did spell checking was awesome. That's one of the things I miss about IE/Firefox... google toolbar was awesome.

What is a mouse gester?
In Opera, you hold your right mouse button down after clicking in some arbitrary place on the page and drag it in a specific direction or series of directions. From that, the browser performs some action which is assigned in the same way the rest of the controls are set up. For example, left is back, right is next, down is new tab, down and then up is duplicate current tab, etc. There was also one that closed the current tab, which got me into some trouble a while back. It's since been disabled, though. :)
How customizable was that again... that sounds really awesome... ? :)
/me is wondering if and when it will show up on the automated update.

For Opera? Here's a screenshot of the options menu (http://sidoh.dark-wire.net/upload/viewitem.php?id=373) with a "gesture" filter applied.
If you're talking about the FireFox Addon, then my bad.
The FireFox mg plugin I used was entirely configurable.

FireFox2 is no longer beta. I've been using it since the first RC, and nothing serious has broken.
What happened with Gaim beta? I've been using the Gaim2 alphas and betas pretty much since the came out, and I've had minimal problems. I hope you reported whatever went wrong, that's the point of open betas :P

Just to clear things up, I wasn't saying it wasn't. :P
Edit: I just installed the FF extension for mouse gestures. It's very configureable! Even moreso than Opera, but it's also more than I need it to be. Even still, it'll be nice to stop pointlessly right clicking.
I got Mouse Gestures and I love it (right now), thanks! :)
I'm not going to download this for a while. It sounds all messed up.

Hotkeys being changed and stuff. Plus, I personally think they kinda rushed from the last beta stage to the final product..

I haven't noticed any hotkey changes, although I'd like a way to configure them built-into the client..
I'm waiting for the auto-update, I hear it's going to be available with FF 1.5.0.8. :)

Hotkeys are very minor. It took me like a day to get used to using new ones.
And what do you mean rushed? They had 2 public betas and 3 release candidates, plus an uncountable number of nightly builds (several of which I used). It wasn't rushed at all.
My keys are all the same...
browser.backspace_action = 0
(about:config)
8). My Firefox woes are over!

I like this new FireFox.
New web brower, new computer, new phone...I've had alot of new this last few days. (The only one that should've happened was the browser, but whatever)

It's obvious that downloading the new Firefox leads to new stuff! Everyone should download it!
Plus, it's even more bloated. Sure, I don't leave Firefox running to rape my memory up the ass, but now I have even more bloat with it!
Spell-checking, search engines, web feeds, live titles? What the heck? I don't use that crap, stop forcing it on me. If the makers of Firefox like it, great, they can make a plugin for it. Stop forcing what was once a light, nice browser to become a bloated IE, neg huge security holes.

I still prefer Mozilla suite 1.7. See, I pwn. No change for me!
You're all fools for not using Opera! Except iago. He's not a fool.
Okay, okay. None of you are fools. But still! Opera is awesome! And if you don't believe me, I have a few words to convince you:
Common... Common!

Actually, another feature is that it uses less memory and runs faster.
Go figure...

I can't find it on their "Release Notes" page, but I'm sure I read it somewhere in their changelog. But I don't feel like finding it, so screw it.
- Spell-checking is a really nice feature, and it's not optional, nor does it take a noticeable amount of memory or cpu.
- Search engines are in every modern browser, including FireFox 1.0 and 1.5.
- Web feeds are done in FireFox 1.0 and 1.5, and I love them. They just improved the interface to them in 2.0.
Nothing is being forced on you. If you don't want to use RSS feeds, don't click the little icon (which, by the way, is there on FireFox 1.0 and 1.5). If you don't want spellchecking (I don't know why you wouldn't), don't click them. If you don't want search engine integration.. well, use IE6 or before. Every other browser includes search engines.
Mozilla has never been a nice, light browser, it's always been a useful feature-rich browser. And IE isn't bloated, IE is simplistic, annoyingly simplistic. IE doesn't need bloat to have its own security holes.
You're just looking for excuses. If you don't want to go with a new browser, then don't. But don't pick on features for being "forced on you"!
