Title: The Pursuit of Happyness
Post by: CrAz3D on November 15, 2006, 10:59:50 PM
Happyness, I know, thats how the commercial showed it.

Looks like an interesting serious role Will Smith is in.  I like him as an actor and rapper, talented dude.

It's spelled that way because the guy who's autobiography this is based on spelled in that way in the title.

From IMDB:

# The spelling error in the title is intentional: it refers to an important scene in the movie.

Completely off-topic.

In my comp apps class, we had a sub today, and the teacher left us a web search to complete.  This movie was one of the answers, along with a synopsis. :p

I saw this yesterday. It was good, but not as good as it could have been. It also went by slowly, but I was by no means bored.

My friend that went with me didn't like it though.

The movie is a true story of a man named Christopher Gardner who overcame insurmountable odds in life and became a very successful broker in Wall Street. It is an inspirational movie without failing to neglect the soft spot of the poor in the man. Gardner shows his goodwill and determination by helping the needed people of South Africa. According to his Biography. I quote:

"Which is why, on this October day, Gardner keeps working those phones. It's why he's already begun writing his next book. It's why he's in talks with several networks about doing a primetime show, and why, earlier this year, he sold a minority stake in Gardner Rich to a major hedge fund. But most of all, it's why he's about to close a second round of financing -- reportedly to launch a private-equity fund focused solely on investments in South Africa."

Yeah, this was a good movie.  It was a bit sappy for my taste, but it was very well put together.
