Dude, you got called a nigger, who the fuck cares.
Quote from: Paul RodriguezComic Paul Rodriguez, who was at the club, said he thought Richards' remarks crossed the line.
"Once the word comes out of your mouth and you don't happen to be African-American, then you have a whole lot of explaining," he said. "Freedom of speech has its limitations and I think Michael Richards found those limitations."
Freedom of speech only has its limitations when you threaten people or harm them, dumbass. Getting your panties in a wad doesn't count.
Quote from: Jamie FoxxThe Oscar-winner said Richards was way out of line and Foxx is taking the side of the hecklers.
"I'm a stand-up comic to the core. But if I am going through something, release it on the stage. But don't dump on nobody and especially not on black people because I don't know what kind of black folks those was, but if it would have been me and my sister and my crew, they'd still be filming right now," Foxx said.
"Don't dump on nobody and especially not on black people"?...wow, sounds like Foxx is racist (and must have failed the George W. Bush academy of "learn me how to spoke")
He's racist and has english skills equivalent to those of a 3rd grader, Jamie Foxx, what a man.
But he's a nobody, he was only on Seinfeld. That's it.
How could he afford them?
Give me money to help me heal.
Also, I thought of this earlier, and it cracked my dad up. "Ku Klux Kramer"
Those guys definitely don't deserve compensation for what happened, especially since they retaliated by calling him a cracker. They're just jackasses looking for a free dime. However, being called a nigger is still a horrible thing to be called by some people and I am disappointed that you think the use of the word is so harmless. Also don't generalize by saying that black people call each other "niggas", because that just isn't universally true.
Next time a black guy calls me a "cracker" I'm suing.
Be honest to yourself. Do you seriously get insulted when someone calls you a cracker, or do you just laugh it off? Nigger has centuries of usage as a very degrading insult to a black person, but I haven't seen the word cracker used to the same degree. If you sincerely get insulted by that, by all means sue; but if you don't, try to understand the effect of a racial slur against anyone(not just a black person), whether they're being asses or not.
So does this mean every time I'm called some sort of racist name at school (you'd be surprised how often that comes up for someone as.. popular... as me) that I can sue? Cancel any college plans I may have had!
Deuce, whether or not we're offended is irrelevant. The point is that it's unfair that there is such an uproar in the black community over the use of racial slurs towards them; but when I walk the halls of my school I hear countless racial slurs from blacks towards whites and in my 4 years I've seen the opposite I think one time. If you don't want to be offended, don't carelessly offend others.
This is blown way out of proportion... Glenn Beck even had a huge segment about it on CNN...
Well Trust like I said, if you get offended by the slurs, then I think you should try and make people notice and care about it. It is horrible that white people are called that, and if you are, I'm terribly sorry. And btw, you're generalizing again. You have no idea whether every single black person who has been called a nigger has called anyone else a racial slur. These people retaliated with a racial slur because a racial slur was used against them. I'm definitely not calling it right, but you have to understand that two wrongs don't make a right unless you're Chuck Norris, and that whatever the black people say, Michael Richards still said some pretty offensive things.
And deadly, I think you might have misinterpreted what I said. If you are seriously insulted by them, then yes, sue. Although personally I think anyone suing over being called anything is pretty stupid.

Then why are you supporting this??

Never mind. He sounded like he was generally supporting this type of act, though.

I think what would pwn would be if Ku Klux Kramer sued them back!!!
So I'm watching Jamie Foxx's stand-up right now, pretty racist sounding ;)
-White peoples, they get anorexia. They say "I'm too fat" and stop eating. Black people get anorexia accidentally. "Daddy, do we have anorexia?" "Naw, daddy lost his job"
White people sky dive and bungee jump, black people aint do that cause its too much like lynching
hmmmmmmmm, double standard? ;)

Don't double post.
Any way, every one knows that black people can call other black people "niggers" all they want. Same way that fat people can make fat jokes, and that every one can make fun of joe. It all depends on the variables, which is redundant, too bad.

Did you not read a single post in this topic? It is definitely not innately right for black people to call each other niggers, same with other races..and @CrAz3D, you have to understand the not-so-fine line between a joke and an insult. Although I despise that form of comedy, he is not meaning to offend anyone. Same thing with Dave Chappelle and Carlos Mencia(even though he sucks).
Maybe Michael Richards was just being a misunderstood comic genius ::)
Some people still laughed, I think it was just a bad taste in humor, more so than Foxx's (cause I thought parts of his rant were funny).
You hear comedians yell at hecklers all the time cracking personal jokes about them...the only reason this one turned out bad because he cracked racist jokes
Most jokes based on degrading specific demographics(race, sex, age, income) can be extremely offensive if said incorrectly. And I highly doubt Michael Richards was joking.

I think he was joking, I just think he took it to the edge and especially had the wrong tone in his voice.
Some of the stuff he said was amusing to me and my friends (which include a black dude). Eventually we all did agree that he presentation of it all was bad.
I never said it wasn't amusing; I found it pretty funny. However, it was still highly inappropriate and very offensive. And I still stand by belief that he wasn't joking.
Michael Richards obviously crossed the line; he lost his mind on stage. And no, obviously the hecklers shouldn't be compensated. And please, enough of this bullshit about how black people get away with so much more, because it's not particularly true, and it's totally besides the point. It doesn't change that Michael Richards acted inappropriately. And also, use some common sense when interpreting the racial jokes in general; don't be dumb, or play dumb, or whatever it is you're (crazed) doing. :)
