Title: Real copy of Vista?
Post by: Newby on January 22, 2007, 08:47:34 PM

For $200... if that's 100% legit, that's one hell of a deal.

It's just because it's OEM.

So? If it comes with a key, and it comes with the disc, that's half off its retail price of $400.

I'm saying that's why it's so cheap, there is no box or manuals and stuff.

Why the hell would you buy 32-bit Vista?  Waste of a new processor. :p

Vista runs fine on a 32-bit processor, from first-hand experience.

I haven't used it myself on 64-bit but I hear it still doesn't work right.

I haven't run into much on Vista x64 that doesn't work on Vista x86.

You're saying that anything x64 can do, x32 can do also, or were you saying that x64 works fine?

So... you can update your pirated XP?
.........?
1) I'd have to have a pirated XP installed to update it
2) I bought my computer within the timeline where they're supposed to send out Vista to you for free

Not having run x64 myself, I've heard some pretty recent bad things from it. Although I can't say they are the smartest of sources (Paul Thurrot)

I've heard bad things about XP for x64.  I have a friend who popped Vista x64 on and whenever Nvidia gets graphics drivers out for my 8800 GTX I'll be upgrading to Vista on this one, too.

You have an 8800 GTX?  Good god, where do you work?
