Anybody here in some sort of a math team/math bowl/whatever the hell you want to call it type of event? I am. Last meet for us is in 2 Mondays. Right now, I'm doing A+B tests (Basic algebra [basically, Algebra 1] + geometry), but next season I'll be doing C+D tests (trigonometry and advanced algebra [that can use calculus to speed up very quickly]). Season total is 19 points out of a possible 56. :| The B tests always get me. I hate geometry.
I am. I do the AMC 12. Also do a competition called the David Essner Exam but that is a Dade county thing sponsored by the University of Miami. In addition, I compete in the 3 regional and 1 state math competition for Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society.) Also competing in a competition called the Commissioner's Academic Challenge which is a team of 6 people per county and on all subjects including math. I also hope to compete in the AIME this year, so hopefully I'll score high enough on the AMC 12.
Haha.. Mu Alpha Theta..
Although I feel I could be pointing out the ridiculously obvious, μαθ transliterates as ma[th].
I'm not a member of any math groups, but I did get a few awards from Mu Alpha Theta in science fair. :)
I don't think my high school had any sort of knowledge bowl, which was unfortunate... it would have been fun.

You were.
I'm in Mu Alpha Theta(Florida) as well. We usually meet every Friday to practice and stuff. I'm also taking the AMC test Feb 12, and have done FML in the past.
Anyone here written the Putnum competition? Or any of the Waterloo competitions (Descartes, Cayley, Pascal, Euclid, ...)?

Which region of FAMAT? South Florida?
Central. Seminole High, Oviedo High, Vero Beach, Lake Mary, etc.
Ah, only competition I see those at is states. Though some of those do really well on that competition. You go to states?
Yeah. I went last year and I'll probably be going this year. I haven't decided which topic tests to take though(mm alliteration). I might try History of Math...
That one is supposed to be interesting. I always take the ones in the subjects related to the division I'm in. Maybe I'll try HoM I might do better.
