Title: Anyone know if this is possible?
Post by: Screenor on February 02, 2007, 11:01:39 PM
I'm on a static IP address, my ISP already dislikes me for the huge amounts of bandwidth I use. (I've received two letters in the past year telling me I've gone over the 50GB/month limit.)

Just curious if there's any possible way I can change my IP without having to talk with my ISP. Google searches really haven't found me anything useful. I asked once a long time ago for an IP change and they got kind of paranoid over the phone with me. Hence why I really don't feel like calling them.

They'd still be able to tell it's you.  They do, after all, require login information to use their service. :)

...What? I'm not trying to be "unknown" by my own ISP. Rofl. I just need to change my IP and want to know if there's another way that doesn't involve asking them.

Oh, sorry.  If it's a static address (like truely static -- you usually have to pay more per month to get it) then no, but if it's not, just try unplugging your modem overnight.

Alright, I'll try that, thanks.
