Title: Sake (Saki?)
Post by: iago on March 14, 2005, 05:08:19 PM
I had some of that Japanese rice wine stuff yesterday.  I think it's spelled Sake.  Anyway, it was absolutely awful.  Do people actually enjoy it?

Any alcoholic drink is better than Sake.

The main character (Tom Cruise) in The Last Samurai drank some of that stuff. I can't tell whether he liked it or hated it.

You're generally not supposed to drink strait sake, that's like drinking rubbing alchohol.  You mix it with water or juice first.

I'm Irish you damned sand nigger.

[edit2]
Did you buy it from an import store, or somewhere else?

It's Japanese spelled Sake pronounced "sah-keh"
(http://www.kougei.or.jp/crafts/1107/special/image/sake.jpg) written like that. (Which is Chinese for wine.)(Curse the Japanese for stealing our language!)

/me laughs at the white men.

I believe he drank some at a Jap restaurant? I thought you didn't drink, iago :[.

I'm not sure if it was mixed with anything or what.  And yes, it was at a Japapanese restaurant.

And I don't drink much -- I just had a sip to try it.  I also had a sip of something else which was like pure sugar and vodka, and tasted surprisingly orangy and good :/

Japanese Restaurant probably means Japanese waitors with Mexican cooks.  The only real place to get good sake is from an import liquor store.  Don't trust anyone but the direct source (you should ph33r all, cause you're like that, iago).

No, it was a Japanese cook.  They cook everything in front of you, there is a grill thing built into each table.  The cook was really good and friendly, and made some amazing food.

Besides, this is Canada, the Mexicans can't get this far.

Jump the border at Texas run to Mississippi, Ride the Mississippi River up until where ever, walk the rest of the way, jump the Canadian border. All in a month's work for a Mexican double-border hopper :/

It's too cold for Mexicans here.

Trust me, we don't have any.  I've never seen a Mexican in real life.
