Yep.
And if you live in a timezone other than EST, get over it. :)

Duh.
So did the Easter Bunny visit anybody else? I got a bunch of candy, $26.25 in my eggs, this shirt I wanted, and Lost Planet in my basket. I'll probably return Lost Planet and get either NCAA March Madness 07 or GRAW2. I didn't like the Lost Planet demo that much.
This was the first year I think that I didn't have an Easter Egg hunt in my backyard. I used to love those things.
Happy Easter!
I am a little confused as to when Easter became a holiday in which you're supposed to give things other than candy and such. ???

Apparently this year. Usually I just get candy. This year I got candy + $65.
I didn't get jack shit.

Peeps are ftw.
Hmm, I've never heard of anybody getting stuff other than candy for Easter either. Weird!
I got nothing, and I plan to have Mac 'n Cheese for dinner, on principle :)

Are you implying that any religion that doesn't invent holidays doesn't count as a religion?
I wish I got candy... there should just be a general Candy Day Holiday.
Off topic, but Easter is celebrated as a secular holiday of bunnies, eggs, and candy. A good chunk of people don't even know what it means, anymore.
Slightly less off-topic, some girl who works in the gift shop was walking around the waterpark in a bunny suit (ended up going down a slide I was in charge of, woo!), and yesterday and today we wore bunny ears on rotation (optional, of course, but I laughed just as much as the guests so it was all good ^_^).
It should be noted that my religion DOES have holidays, I just choose not to celebrate them.. and I don't celebrate Judeo-Christian holidays because they all sold out. Gotta love religion!

Every religion I know of has holidays to mark important events in history for that religion. That said, Easter was not invented. No one up and said that they needed a holiday between Christmas and All Saint's Day. A very important historical event occurred to the people of that faith. Yes, the dating method is a bit odd, but again, there is a reason for it. They wanted Easter to fall during the same time of year and with the same relationship to the astronomical full moon. Basically, a copy of the day Christ was resurrected.

It's really split I think. I've always gotten stuff (hell, my sister got a bike today and some computer game) but I know alot of people don't get stuff or just get candy. I guess it's all preference of the parents.
Easter wasn't invented. At all. Easter was pagan goddess. Christianity named a holy day after her to try and make Christianity a little more appealing to pagans so that they would convert.

I'm pretty sure they call it X-mas. ::)

That sounds like a load of BS to me. :-\
Everyone knows what Christmas represents, though. I knew back when I was five. Honestly, I didn't know what Easter was until a few years ago -- I thought it was the rabbit's equivalent of Groundhog's Day or something stupid like that.
Also, X-mas isn't necessarily blocking out "Christ". It's a useful contraction, and besides, several crosses back in the day were shapped like an X (the body was nailed to it spread-eagle style). Just sayin'. :)
