Title: FS2004 Screenshot thread
Post by: Killer360 on June 26, 2007, 06:27:21 PM
I thought I might make this thread for FS2004/FSX screenshots. Here are some that I have taken today:

And I was going to get some screenshots of the approach but FS2004 decided it was going to freeze up at about 10 minutes from landing.  :'(

I'll add more later.  :)

I've been considering some multiplayering on it. But yeah I do play FSX a bit (no screens, sorry).

Multiplayer? Does one player get to be a captain and the others get to be passengers? That'd be funny.

Haha, I'd love to see the "passenger fear" after that!

Great, then you'd have problems with terrorists joining your game and hijacking your plane...

Passenger adrenalin (fear): 100%
Frightened by hijacker

Actually yes you can play online. Most of the FSX servers are garbage though.

I fly on a network called Vatsim (http://vatsim.net). It's very similar to the real thing. Real controllers, real approach charts, etc.)

LOL... ok, so this evening I was tuned to Kennedy departure on vatsim and he told me to slow to 160 knots when I was in the middle of a climb to my cruising altitude of FL210!

Ok, so I was below 10, 000 feet and was in a climb to FL210 (21, 000 feet) and climbing at 250 knots (463 km/h).

The Kennedy Departure controller goofed up and accidentally told me to slow to 160 knots  (a stalling speed during a climb) and I'm like Wtf? 160 knots = 296.32 km/h

The n after that he apologized and gave me radar vectors to Merit... :)

Over-rotated an old 737-200 on a very short runway and had to make an emergency landing on Winnipeg
s runway 36.

If anyone ever has any questions about the game, I'd be happy to answer them. :)

Hahahahhahah. That was good.

My advice (as I play on keyboard and mouse): get used to flying small stuff like the Ultralight, then move up to the bigger. The default is easy, it just is different than one would expect.

Buy a joystick. It makes it 99% more easier.

I bought 2-3 joysticks over the course of my life. All of them are Game Port (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_port) joysticks. You know, the adapter that was phased out in like, the course of a few years. Apparently in favor of USB. :(

Here's a picture:

I have one. It doesn't seem to want to work. Apparently drivers don't work on anything past/including XP. That, and the game controllers option in Windows XP doesn't work very well, either. So. :(

And it's completely phased out in Vista.

I've seen USB joysticks at circuit city for 20$, I even got a good gamepad from them for 25$. Just say no to the warranty and stuff, of course I've said that and they "accidentally" dropped the box. It works fine though.

Why don't you just get a USB joystick? I got mine for $30 at Circuit City. It's a Logitech attack 3 and it works very well with FS2004.

Last time I played it, it brought my computer to a halt. I've got a new processor (an X2) now, so it'll probably run fine if I can get my hands on a copy of Windows.

You can find copies of Windows all over the internet. ;)

Would be cool to start a thread for hi-res screenshots of different games.

Yes, that would be cool... sadly imageshack isn't the best for  hi-res photos. I guess we could use http://www.xs.to though.

I can find them all over my apartment, too. It's just a matter of looking, and I'm not convinced that I care about Windows enough to look.
