Title: The Simpsons
Post by: rabbit on July 29, 2007, 05:09:30 PM
Great movie with no ascertainable starting point (there were at least 4).  VERY funny and great ending.  I loved it ^^

To sum it up in one word: AMAZING.  Those of you going "but the new episodes suck" should watch this-it's like the old episodes in movie format, with much more kickass jokes and an actual storyline.

It was very good. The animation was awesome. Money well spent.

I really didn't laugh that much. Some of the parts were funny but I don't think it matched the hype.

But then again I've only watched The Simpsons a handful of times.

There was hype?

I was surprised that, at least around here, nobody was talking about it and I didn't see a single commercial for it (although there was one on before it came out, but I changed the channel). I was rather surprised at the lack of hype.

Except of course that 7-11 thing, but that barely mattered here..

There was... a decent amount of hype down here.

Nothing huge. I thought the 7-11 thing was more of a 7-11 thing than a Simpsons thing, as the both benefitted a lot.

yes I'd say there was a fair amount of hype.

this is what we have in one of the local theaters:

I can't believe that sailbot picture (that Marge painted for homer, by the way) isn't centered! Argh!

It WAS hyped, in that everyone talked about it. Not much in the way of commercials. Which is good. :)

I guess it's just in the position that I'm in now, where nobody I know really talks much about movies much, at least, not about modern ones. I guess it's part of the whole getting old thing :)

We have a Kwik-E-Mart in downtown Seattle.  The doughnuts are pretty good.

I saw too many commericals, it disappointed me :(  I just wanted the commercials to say "THE SIMPSONS MOVIES (July 27th)" and be done.  Let that do the hyping.  I mean everyone who isn't under a rock has watched the show.

At one of the dining halls at my school, my friend got a salad dressing with an expiration date of something/something/2006. He took it to the cashier and complained but the cashier spent 5 minutes arguing that the date was really 2008. When we saw the movie afterwards, the part with Apu doing the same thing was hilarious.

Apu has always done that in the show.  :P
