Title: General WotLK discussion
Post by: warz on November 13, 2008, 08:34:56 pm
So, there's already a 72 death knight on my server. wtflol. I'm almost 60. :\

edit: I also have to say, I'm pretty impressed by this 'instancing' style of questing. I know it's not called instancing, but I can't remember the other term being used for it. It feels like your questing in the death knight starting area really affects the surroundings. It's real cool.

Since I had the game installed/account updated before it was released I was on the first boat to Northrend. Doing those starting quests is so much easier when there are 4 people in the zone. In beta I had leveled to 71 so I already knew the quests well too, and I think I was the first person on my server(on my faction, dunno about horde) to hit 71, at least no one else showed up with /who 71. That was at like 3:30am. Then I went to bed, went to work, and came back to be way behind everyone :(. Hit 72 last night though. level/day should be easy to keep up, but I'm trying to slow down a bit and actually enjoy it. Overall questing seems a lot more entertaining than it was in BC, and the 5 mans are way better.

I've been playing a death knight. Maybe it's just because I haven't quested in awhile, or maybe it's because most other classes were getting boring to me, but the death knight is the most fun I've had on wow in a long time. I'd say that even if you're not planning on playing one to 80, at least do the death knight starting zone. It only takes a couple of hours, and it's totally worth it. It's well scripted and really fun. You basically walk around some Scarlet Crusade town one shotting people, and destroying the town with cannons and dragons and stuff. Lots of fun. :P

Holy Hell.  So much for slowing it down?

I am just about 71.  I should be in the mid-70s by now, but I just can't get into the questing mood and so I always end up just stopping after a few quests.

it's not that bad, i guess. there's already guilds with like 30 level 80s, and they're raiding. there's already a large amount of 80 DKs also. lol

Well the funny thing is the further you get ahead of everyone, the easier it is to get even further ahead. The later zones like sholazar basin, storm peaks, and icecrown are all really well designed at least as far as being able to get lots of quests done quickly. Plus, while everyone is stuck leveling slowly in crowded areas, I'm sharing all of Icecrown with 5-10 people. And finally, I'm an op warlock so leveling is stupidly easy and fast. But yeah, I worked Thursday, had classes Friday, did all my homework, got a good nights sleep every night, ate, showered, etc. I just didn't have anything else to do this weekend :P

Reading about TwentyFifthNovember is strangely horrifying. Organized enough players to give up their lives in order to power level to 80 and complete all the current WotLK raid content in under three days, geez...

Hey, I hear that there isn't that many gear upgrades in WotLK as there were in TBC. I remember in TBC, the first few levels, all blues and purples were replaced by greens. But, that makes me wonder, what about the person that goes to Northrend when first hitting 68 or 70 with greens and blues?

I waited until 73 to get my first REAL upgrade, but it was just replacing S2 PvP Shoulders.

Yeah, if you've got S2 or better you won't be replacing gear for a few levels.  My feral gear was meh on my druid, I went back to moonkin last night since I don't plan on running the lower instances quite yet.

The problem clearly was that you weren't dedicated enough. :P

I'm trying to figure out if I should take my death knight to northrend at 68, or suffer through 68 and 69 before going. I know it'd probably make northrend just that much easier if I were to go at 70, but it's tempting to go earlier!

Ugh, my death knight is 73 and I'm starting to lose interest in this expansion. I just started questing in Dragonblight and it's looking just like more of the same. The new zones have a larger feel to them, and the quests are largely just repeats of old quests with several new flying quests thrown in there.

I think BC did a better job at making the expansion feel like it was worth the time. I don't even hear anyone talking about level 80 stuff in Trade chat. Nobody seems to care about anything in this expansion, lol.

Heh, its hard to care when even the end game content is a joke right now. We killed 25 man sarth a while ago on our first try with like 21 people in the raid. Naxx bosses are trivial. All of this is with lots of people in like half level 70 gear still. Now that we are getting gear from raids/heroics it's just going to get easier..... and this is all there is for months. wtb challenging content.

Yea. I'm not even 80 and I'm already not even excited about raiding. lol.

To be honest, though, I don't even know what the 25 man raids are in wotlk. I don't even know what the 'final', or BT/SWP equiv. is in wotlk.

Right now there is the redesigned Naxx, and two single boss dragon fights, Sartharion and Malygos. So very little in the way of even new content... 15 redesigned bosses and 2 new dragons. The final raid is supposed to be Icecrown Citadel and getting to kill Arthas.

Weak. No wonder nobodys been talking about raids, and stuff. I've been hearing of guilds in greens and blue one shotting all of Naxx on the 10 man mode, or whatever.

I tried Nexus, and I was in a group that couldn't even kill the first boss (the one that creates clones of itself) for like 5 tries. lol. It was mainly our healer and tanks fault - neither of them had much experience.

Hey, troll-master, guess what? I said I don't know what the final dungeon is... not the final boss. From what I've heard it's coming in later patches similar to how it was in BC.

You're trying too hard again.
