Yup, everyone saw it coming. The 3.1 patch is putting some hurt on the DKs. This is sad for me because mine is finally tanking Heroics and could easily tank a raid. Their increased time on Howling Blast cool down and removal of damage caused by Pestilence will hurt me a little. I don't recall much else, but I think they're reducing our avoidance, too. Oh, and our Icy Veins or whatever no longer does as much damage reduction. Booooo.
Guess I will focus on my Paladin, now.

Death Knights will be changed more than any class in the next while, that goes with being new. You'll see the rise of them again.

Druid avoidance is pretty pro.
Howling Blast damage has been doubled (from 259-281 to 518-562 for max rank), cooldown changed from 5 seconds to 10 seconds.
Seems like it will be fine to me, shouldn't be a problem in PvE. The 5% loss from spell damage reduction is pretty insignificant IMO.

10 seconds is a long fucking cool down. that changes up the tanking rotation completely.

It's Icebound Fortitude btw, which was buffed last patch. How do you have a DK at 80 and still not know the name of core abilities?
* Frost Aura: Replaced with Improved Frost Presence. Allows the deathknight to keep the health bonus of Frost Presence in any presence, and decreases magic damage taken while in Frost Presence.
^ Buff. And I can't find anywhere that says anything about a decrease in avoidance. Mitigation is being increased in Frost while threat will be a little lower. There's still Unholy which will be fine for tanking as it has been. But with dual-spec on the way, you can have an AoE threat build ( Unholy ) and a mitigation build ( Frost ) for different situations.

The only avoidance nerf I noticed was the 10% parry on blade barrier -> 5% damage reduction. But it's not like DKs were hurting for avoidance:
The previous three tanking classes were all equal in terms of avoidance from talents. Warriors and Paladins receive 5% each to Dodge and Parry, while Druids receive 10% to dodge (since they are incapable of parrying). However, Death Knights can receive a whopping 22% avoidance that is unaffected by Diminishing Returns; 5% to Dodge from Anticipation, 10% to Parry from Blade Barrier, 3% to boss-miss from Frigid Dreadplate, and an additional 4% Parry from Runeforging.
Its just bringing them closer in line, like how they are trying to do with druid hp/armor and giving them savage defense or whatever

The paladin tanking rotation I used was 8 seconds long.
