I'm excited.  I've been wanting to re-roll Horde, but don't really feel like doing it without BoA gear.

Holy fucking shit, I never thought I'd ever see the day.  I was really, really, really sure this would never happen.

WOAH. I've been hoping for this for years! All of my friends are Horde! Damn you, WoW!

I'm really quite interested to learn more details on this one.  I wonder how they'll handle quest completions for achievements?  Or, really, a lot of achievements by themselves.  One simply can't kill both Thrall AND Magni..

Haha, game ruining for horde!  All the 13yo's on alliance will now transfer.  YAY!

Care to go a little more in-depth?  There's the same level of maturity on both factions as far as I've seen. Aside from strictly arena, I don't see how anything would be 'ruined'.  And even arena is debatable, I forsee a lot of people going UD => Human and Human => UD, but that's about it.

As for the achievements, you'll more than likely just get the H/A equivalent.

I have a bunch of friends that want to go horde but im worried about how they will handle rep and achievement stuff. Plus both the characters I have played as mains would lose their winterspring frostsaber :(

I've always wondered what it would be like to play Horde, but I highly doubt I will actually switch.

This would help me, because I'd be able to play with all my friends now. But, this is also bad because it could suck me back into WoW if I'm not strong enough to resist!

I've got enough high level alts to switch 1-2 over and not care all too much.

80 Paladin, 80 Druid, 80 Shaman and an 80 DK.
73 Rogue, 70 Priest, 69 Mage and a few at 45+

Q&A added!

Quote from: Nethaera
Updated* 7/1- Due to the many questions that have come up with the announcement of this new service, we wanted to take the time to answer the ones we can at this point in time.

Q. Will we be able to switch between the races on our own faction?
A.. No. Players will only be able to switch to a race of the opposite faction.

Q. Will I be able to choose the race on the opposite faction that I want to change to?
A.. Yes, but you will only be able to switch to a race that has your class type available to it. So if you play a human paladin, you’d only be able to change to a blood elf paladin.

Q.How much will it cost?
A.. We do not have further information on this at this point in time.

Q.Will I be able to switch back to my original faction but a different race?
A.. No. You will only be able to switch back to your originally chosen race.

Q.. How will the switch between reputation, gear, mounts, etc be handled?
A.. We’ll have more details for you at a later point in time, though we plan to keep these as close to a reflection of the other faction as much as possible.

Q.How often can you change your faction?
A..We do not have any information to share on this at this point in time, however we will have restrictions on the frequency by which players can change their faction.

Q. How will this affect the balance of Horde and Alliance on the realms?
A.. We are taking great care in how we implement this new service in order to maintain balance between the factions on the realms but do not have any further details to share.

LOL Probly won't need to do that considering I have so many friends on the ally side of my server anyway. I can get whatever I'd need anyway. Horde for life imo.

What if it's a pvp server and you have multiple alts?

Probably won't be allowed to switch on that server, then.

I'm currently leveling up my hunter - he's 75. Hopefully I can hit 80 before 3.2, and then switch over to my friends horde guild that I've always wanted to play with. :D

TBH I'm really not worried about maturity levels of the people who will be switching factions, rather the balance of Alliance Players to Horde. From what I've seen a lot of Alliance players want to be Horde and a lot of Horde players want to stay Horde. :(

Gotcha.  I'll probably transfer 1-2 of my alts that are 70+ ( Priest (70), Mage(70) and Rogue(73) atm ) to fund leveling more Horde toons.  I just hate being stuck with no money and the heirloom items would be great to have for leveling.

Too bad it's $30 with no server transfer included.  Pretty pricey IMO.

$30 + $25 = $55 to server + faction transfer.  Needs to be nerfed IMO.

People will still do it, though. Probably not you or me, but definitely lots of people, even if it costs upwards of $50.

No doubt.  It's cheaper to RAF up a few 60s atm.

Yea. I just did it. I'd rather just pay $55 to have my current geared level 80 hunter on my friend's server, as horde, than level up a new one. My friend is going to half it with me, too, because he owes me a lot of money. :P

Really, $55 is nothing if you've got a job and are single. heh.

I may transfer a toon or two over when tax returns roll around, but for now I don't need to throw money at it.

Ok. Maybe I should clarify... a real job. Making minimum wage at McDonalds will force you to choose one or the other. A real job, and you can choose both!
