Title: Starcraft II, anyone?
Post by: Lead on July 27, 2010, 02:29:55 pm
Anyone else planning on being on tonight, pending if you pound that kid in front of you with his mom to get your copy? Add me to your real-id friends! (my email is in the members section)

Let me know if this game is worth buying. I might get it if I have ample free time during the academic year (doubtful with 20 credits of only physics/engineering & the other shit I have to do) and upgrade my graphics card.

This game runs on shitty video cards (geforce 6500) well, but I'm not buying it.

No... Starcraft 1 ran on shitty video cards (think TNT2) well. SC2 runs on modern-day mediocre cards or better, but lots of people [myself included] haven't bothered to buy new gaming machines.

I think my computer has a geforce 5800. Whatever it is, I had to run the beta in really low quality for it to run smooth.

Beta ran acceptably on my GeForce FX 5900.  Got about 30 FPS provided I didn't hover over huge battles too long.  Or play Protoss.  Energy fields destroyed my FPS.

And with how D3 looks it looks as though Activision is making Blizzard go graphics first and not appeal to its fanbase. SC1 was amazing because you could almost play it on what had the equivalent specs of a graphing calculator *just fine*. SC2 I may only download just for the story. It looks like they destroyed b.net from what I've heard.

Rabbit and I played some interesting 2v2 games last night, one including a 5 minute match where we ended up both being Terran and reaper rushing the scrubs :P

Other notable mentions that logged on during this period:
MyndFyre
Camel

There is no BNET. Think of a mixture of Facebook and XFire.
