Title: *insert end of StarWars theme song here*
Post by: Joe on May 27, 2006, 06:21:25 pm
Yup. I'm coming back, under the following three conditions:
I need someone to pay for my account.
I can get OSX86 to run on my computer.
I can get WoW to run on OSX86.

The first will be tough, the second less tough, and the third should be trivial after the second is completed.

Computer specs:
Intel Integrated Graphics (Don't complain, just buy me a new graphics card, thanks =))
Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz (Should be recongnized as an Intel Core Solo, I think)
1GB of RAM. I don't know what kind, but OSX86 shouldn't care.
Dial-up. Fortunately, Tory and I are hanging out so much lately that I may just move into his house for the summer and have DSL. =)

I have a level 40 Human Warlock on Thunderlord, but he's a piece of crap (spec and equipment wise), and Human + Warlock don't mix too well. I'm planning on making a new Gnome Female Warlock (specced to kill quickly with no self-preservation whatsoever) on Malestrom and joining the x86 guild.

So...when are you coming back?

I assume as soon as someone gives him a game card, or he bugs his parents enough.

So you've already ruled out him getting a job. :p

Joe, why do you want to be a female and why are you hanging out constantly with a dude named Tory?  This tells us a lot about you.

That was a lame attempt at humor, deadly. I hang out with Tory because we're working on a few projects (both in the fields of construction and comp sci), he has money, a car, and DSL. I want to be a female because I don't want to stare at a he-gnome's ass for hours when I play WoW.

I'm Gnome president.  I disallow you to be a Gnome.

"But I'll be damned if you're gonna stop me from staring at a female gnomes ass!"

NE are gay, they can't be warlocks.

But come to think about it, I may consider a priest instead. Decursive is really nice - does anyone know of a "heal the person in most need" addon?

Get CT_RA. It has this emergency monitor thing.

I'm wondering how well that would work in a 5-man group, though.

Who needs to be a druid?  My guild has a maximum of three a raid -- usually two.  Mages and Warlocks on the other hand..

... There are five people to watch.  I have little use for it with 40.

I'm debating between Dwarf Paladin and Night Elf Druid at the moment. I want to be able to keep myself alive while kicking butt. With the druid's travel form (and forms in general) it seems like a mega-cool class to play and I think I'm going to go with it.

I was kidding about that, haha.  I think we should make it something related to x86, now that I think about it.  Maybe we can do "Ex Eighty Six".

Make it shorter then.

I'd say something either really obvious ("We Are Programmers") or not so obvious but where the point will come out if someone thinks about it ("Starfleet Clan", talking about StarTrek).

By the way, I forgot to tell you all - the cracked ISO didn't have any seeds so I'm still in Linux. I'm trying my best to get a tossed together WINE install to work (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=120615).

EDIT -
Wine installed with no problems (amazingly, my OS is two backversions, three in a few days). Pray for me, peoples!

First step, OS. I've got it figured out now, hopefully, thanks to an anonymous member of these forums.
