I think the college I am going to actually wants us to have SP2. They sell that on all their laptops.
But, why not SP2?

SP2 = Paranoia USA.
poofycakes = Stupidity USA.

Run several applications at once with the 1024MB DDR2 SDRAM (2 DIMM) and max supported 2048MB
Very nice! I wish I had a laptop, you lucky bum.

Save up the money, that's what I did. :)

SP2 = Paranoia USA.
Perhaps, but since you can turn off the paranoia features and it's required for Visual Studio 2005, I've upgraded. It's worth it.

It also screws up a bunch of programs.

What? My windows start up has never been faster since I upgraded to SP2. None of my software runs slower or faster because of it.

When SP2 first came out I had to unupdate after installing it, but SP2 is all good now, at least for me...
Cool dude! I <3 my HP, my portable desktop
-
Cool. :)
Mine should be here next week.

Additionally, I know Counter Strike, SP2, and my hardware don't go well together. Remember my other thread about my counter strike crashing problem? It was because of SP2.

LOL +1.
SP2 is worth it, I have no problems with my programs. Perhaps there is some way around?
