This summer, we're having a LAN party at Ron's house. He hasn't agreed to this yet, but I'm sure he will, and if he doesn't, I'm showing up anyhow. ^^. We will be staying for a week, and will each bring our computer with us, plus some games, and for the programmers, their compiler(s) of choice. We'll play games and stuff, and teach eachother programming stuff, and the entire time, we will speak only in a programming language. For instance, if Newby wakes up at 2PM on Monday, he needs to say MOV "MOUTH", "WAFFLES" to get breakfast. Who's in? </joke>
-
Awesome!
Wouldn't it be more like: ADD, WAFFLES, MOUTH? :P
-
Just run a cat-5 down to San Jose and I'm in :D
-
Which would mean I'd be in too. Seriously, me and Ergot need to LAN some time 8)
-
cough I'm so in I'll be in connecticuit for the summer so I can catch a ride on one of my vacations from work.
-
I think my computer is rather heavy, I don't like headphones so I'd have to mount my surround sound eh :D ?
-
If you can get here, you can stay here. That goes for anybody cool. So therefore, anybody but Ergot (kidding!). You get here, I'll cover meals and having a bed (within reason).
-
Don't worry Newby will share with you ;]! I want to go to Canada, but I'm going to China this summer :P!
-
I can mount my comptuer on my back but my monitor is a 21" so I dont know :|. or I could just get my HD and memory out of it.

I'm in!
I'll sleep in my computer. And I'll kick all your asses.
Plus, a super lan party would mean iago WOULD HAVE TO USE WINDOWS FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR!
-
wine steam.exe
-
The only multiplayer games I like are Starcraft and Ghost Recon. And Starcraft works poorly on a LAN.
But I don't care about LAN party, just come here and hang out. :)

MINERAL HAX! WOOT!
-
By hang out he means contribute to an Open Source project :P!
-
Me + James must go to your house when we both are 18. :-D If his b-day is before spring break well crash your house then. Otherwise well crash there during the summer.
-
Although this was a joke, I'm in. I just talked to my dad about trading in our Washington, DC trip for a round trip ticket to canada. (Plane). I'm only 14, though, so someone needs to pick me up at the airport and drive me to Ron's house (Ron's mom!). We want.. eh.. a week for this? That'd give us plenty of time to get bored with eachother. ASM would get lame after the first day, so we can move to VB. (<3!). We should set aside a time period that everyone has available, so that we can all go, and its more likely to happen. I'm pretty much available all summer long, as I have no life.
-
someone needs to pick me up at the airport
That would be easy. I live maybe 15 minutes from Winnipeg International Airport and I can normally get a car.
so we can move to VB.
You almost had me convinced. But now I changed my mind, you aren't allowed to come here.
The main problem is that somebody who is 14 (or 15 or 16 or 17) that comes to visit an online friends just seems wrong. Not so much to me or them, more to parents and such, and you have to respect how parents feel.
I went to visit Tmp, but I was 21 and he was 19. That's not such a problem :)
-
Haha owned.

So that means I'll be bunking with you, right? :-*
-
We have two extra beds and a couple couches. One of the couches is under snow in the backyard, which would be a good place to make somebody sleep :D
-
By "we" you mean you, your cat, and your tapeworms ?
-
No, I mean my family :P
-
So you, your cat, and your tapeworms?
-
If I can't come I'll buy a camera and you can WATCH me sleep. Good times good times.
-

Too late.
iago, I wasn't serious about the VB thing. Also, I asked my dad and he seemed rather serious when he said sure.
EDIT: HdxBmx27 is in, if he can get a buddy pass from Agarwaen, which means hes in too.
-
Me and Warrior left webcams on while we slept once. Those were the Good days...
And well, if you can get here, and your dad doesn't mind, then, well, let me know and we'll work something out :)
-
Awesome!
Wouldn't it be more like: ADD, WAFFLES, MOUTH? :P
More like push! My parents wouldn't let me, they have a thing about me going to people's houses on the internet, I'll be molested or something =\
-
Tell them Ron is Canadian and that Canadian are castrated at birth :/
-
Networks -- I don't blame them at all. I'd be surprised if some 15-year-old's parents let him go to a 21-year-old's house. It's just the principle.
Ergot -- That's a half truth and you know it!
-
And only me and Newby know which half ;]
-
lol if my parents ever said yes to this, I'd have to hitchhike my way from MPLS to your house, Ron. :-\
-
I am 16 but yea. Maybe in liek a couple of years, when I am in college or w/e we can all do that hacker convention thing.
-
Pick me up on the way? :)
-
k.
-
I've always wanted to travel to Canada when I could actually function. It'd be my second trip there but yeah... I was a little kid the first time. I want to wrestle a Grizzly Bear. They do that where you live don't they Ron?.. ;D
-
We don't have any big wildlife besides deer here.
-
haha I was jk.. Although Bear Wrestling would be cool.
-
I thought you had mosquitos :[
-
and GEESE!
-
AND HAIRY PEOPLE.
-
and eskimos
-
and Joe's! We're animals!
-
Joes pfft they're the bottom of the food Chain Animals.
-
We have tons of mosquitos and, outside the city, lots of geese.
-
Lets get back on topic, shall we?
Sam might be coming. I haven't asked her yet, but if I remember I'll ask her at school tomorrow.
-
Coming where, exactly? Ron's house? Or Ozzfest? Or Washington? I'm not really sure what we're talking about.
In any case, cool. Does she know I exist? :-o
-
Back off topic, and there's a bunch of cows, in Ron's house :D
-
As I accumulate more and more junk, there's less and less room for things like cows. They've all ended up in a pile along with my penguin at the top-right corner of my desk. :(

Welcome to ron's neverland ranch!

Female is recommended, but I doubt that's going to happen.
-
Are you kidding? I'll ship you my parapalegic neighbor...she has no legs ron...she can't run :p ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
I meant I doubt that any online female friends would visit, not females in general. I actualy don't know any females just online, unless you cound Newby. But I don't.
And that's just wrong, sending somebody with no legs :P
-
So? We are totaly wrong people! Would you like a woman with no arms instead?
-
I'll bring you 10 girls Ron ;) they can Cheer YAY RON YAY WE LOVE LAN PARTIES. Actually they probably wouldnt cheer but I bet I could get girls to come. :) ... LAFFS
-
Hehe Ron. Sam is 13. Keep off my girl. To your house, I meant, and no she doesn't know you.
-
no she doesn't know you.
I'm hurt
-
Ron, you wanna know something funny... My GF knows about you ROFL!
-
Hes even more hurt now, StAiN.
I'll ask her if she wants to come (to Ron's house, btw) tonight at church if she ends up coming. She said thats pretty much a solid no, because her dad is a bit (way, way too) strict.
-
How could anyone not let their 14 year old daughter go to some strange 21 year old Canadese man's parent's house's basement? Sheesh, what a fucknut.

I'm with Rab, WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND!? Jeeze... People these days..
-
Since I have a lot of free time, I'll come up. But I'm gonna brainwash you into becoming a stoner and things of that sort. :)
-
Hes a COKE HEAD!
-
I'm too old to start doing drugs. I win! :)
-
Unless we drug you and get your addicted :D
-
I'll put you through the most agonizing pain. Prepare to have your eyesockets bleed.
..
I will make you look at Superiority's source.
-
HAR HAR HAR~
I thought you were going to take your mask off..
@RaBBiT: Yeah, her mom wont even let me come over to my house.
-

I'm with Rabbit on this one. I mean, all the popular 14 year old girls are going to 21 year old Canadian mens' houses!
-
My Gf is almost 17 and I'm 18 and her mom wont let us come to my house (alone w/o my mom being here). And my mom doesnt like my GF so.... That causes problems but we get things done in the end. GG to us. ;)
-
@RaBBiT: Yeah, her mom wont even let me come over to my house.
Wait....what?
-
@RaBBiT: Yeah, her mom wont even let me come over to my house.
Wait....what?
I suspect that means let her come over my house..
Anyway!
On a side note I'm turning 16 so I'll drive to canada, who wants to get picked up? By the way, It's illegal for me to drive out-of-state, and DEFINATLEY illegal for me to drive out of country. So you'll be breaking the law, I hope you don't mind.
-
I can drive, not legally of course, but I can still drive :)
-
I am in manitoba every summer, but I am still two hours away from winnipeg, unless I go to visit with aunt(s)/uncle(s).
-
Duuuuuuuuuuudeeeeeeeeeeee Ron
You're sneaking me in your bags when you come for Ozzfest. :)
-
Speaking of Ozzfest, Iron Maiden will be awesome.
-

You should!
Where do they live? I know most of the towns around here, having lived here all my life :)
-
Uhh, I'm not sure exactly, except for the "Spaghetti Factory" is near by. :P
I am staying near the border by some small towns like Ninette, Belmont, Killarney, and I might be in Brandon for a day. I will be there for an estimated 1 week, and I have lots of things to do, people to see, so I will see what I can do to get into Winnipeg.

Well, I live less than an hour from the border, I'm at the very south end of Winnipeg.
"The Spaghetti Factory" moved a couple years ago. I don't know where it used to be, but now it's directly in the middle of Winnipeg. About a 20-30 minute drive from where I live.
How old are you? If you can get here, we'll go golfing or something :)
-
Nubs the Lot of ya' Drive Like me and you'll get 5 tickets a day ;)
-
<drugs>Sam's mommy say noh wai! har har</drugs>

There's a Spaghetti Factory in Philly too, about a 10 minute walk from my school. It's a chain, you know.
-
Spagetti is so annoying.. :) I swear I used to like it but its OVERRATED and I think its like the worst Italian food now... :/
-
Bump. This thread can't die.
We sorta missed the summer though, eh?
-
There's a Linux installfest at ASU this Saturday. ;)
I'll bring my Xbox, Windows/Linux box, and the beer! :P
-
How do you have a "Linux installfest"? Don't you just install it once, and then write it to all the harddrives? Why would there be more than a single person? Or am I not understanding this right?
-
LAN Party and my house. We can steal the PPL buildings WiFi.

It's a way for the school club to promote Linux use (and their club). They provide distros (or how to get them), serve pizza and drinks, and give stuff away (no doubt some stuffed Tuxes). They also provide support for everyone to get them off the ground.
-
Damn, that's awesome dude.

Hmm, I should start one like that! Of course, then I'd have to talk to the CSSA, and they're total wankers (or nerds), even I fear them.

Just a note: intruding on somebody else's network without permission is very much illegal. It's just as illegal as hacking somebody to obtain access to their network. Just a warning :)
-
Send me a tux!
-
Me too.

You know you have no life when iago calls you a nerd.
