I doubt they walk up to everybody and say "can we search for needles and money?". That's way too specific and vague.

They probably had suspisions about the guy and needles and money are two things that AFAIK dogs can't really sniff for or might not be trained to sniff for. Which is probably why they needed to search by hand for them.

Is it just and legal? Well thats for the court to decide.

Meteorology (metr for short). Its one of the 'hard' sciences. It sucks because in most of my classes my teachers skim over something because its crazy hard but they always add 'don't worry, for you meteorology majors you'll get to see this again and do even harder things.'

This is my lovely schedule. Discussion for physics is optional(read: I won't be going) so thats kinda nice. But the other stuff will be kinda nasty. I also work part time (for $8/hour :( ) whenever I can which hopefully will be a bit since my cubicle is 3 floors above my Intro to Metr I class and a floor below the Intro to Metr I Lab.

I'm really sad. I can't find the motivation to do my homework. Calc III, Intro to Metr I and Physics II (which are my only classes) are going to rape me terribly :(

I'm reasonably sure its got more to do with the fact that once you start getting fun things like free periods you don't really have a 'class' anymore. And as such its not appropriate to refer to them as a class. So the clear way is to start refering to chunks of time, which in this case is called a 'block,' and there you have it.

Now one can safely say that 1st block one is a teacher's pet, 2nd block one has a math class, 3rd block one has free and 4th & 5th block one has english class.

Neat how that works, huh?

None of you attend here so you don't know the environment, I'm sure. I don't make attempts to "brag" about my life and sex booze and drugs, as none of the above are large parts of my life. I've done all 3, but it's an occasional thing. I've only posted here drunk one time that I can remember, so fuck that.

What I'm saying is the school requires you act with gentlemanly conduct (i.e. greeting people, respecting women, etc.) but that doesn't have anything to do with what you're talking about. It's college, this stuff happens - we just happen to have an additional set of rules.

Thanks for proving the point.

You guys are so beyond repair that you're required via 'rules' to do things the rest of society does as a common courtesy.

I love college so much.

Two nights ago a kid on my hall got alcohol poisoning down at the Kappa Alpha house, then he fell and hit his head and had to go to the hospital.   He ended up being fine though, but KA is on 2 week probation for having a freshman at their house before Rush. The police and firefighters and paramedics were in our dorm that night though. My RA is really cool too as long as you don't like carry a can of beer around or are obvious. I walked into the bathroom with a can and he made me dump it out, but later I had 2 beers out of a Nalgene while sitting there talking to him in a dorm and he didn't say anything.

I met a bunch of sophmores who are friends with my RA last night and got an invite down to the Kappa Sigma house so I'm looking forward to that. Then 5 carloads of girls rolled up onto campus, from a nearby girls school. They came after their yearly lecture about how guys here rape women and "do you want to sleep on my futon" means "do you want to have sex?" and stuff. Whatever. One girl ended up going to the hospital though I don't know why, my exgf was telling me she heard it. Then early this morning I was outside and a guy tried doing a bell run (tradition here when after you get laid you run naked to our bell (we use a manual bell to end classes) and ring it and run back.) He was unsuccessful because he is not "Fucking Shack, it's 10 feet high."

Funny stuff goes on here, but class starts tomorrow. We have a football scrimmage Friday though and Marshall Tucker Band is playing our welcome back concert so that's sweet.

My roommate and I don't really get along though. He's a complete douche. More on that later.

Jesus christ. They need to build a razor wire fence around that place to prevent you guys from infecting the rest of humanity.

Yes.  You're telling me what weather wasn't like, despite the fact that you live on the other side of the country.  Also, I live where I live.  I tend to know what the weather is like here.

You might, but 98/98 definitely wouldn't happen where you are living hence you being full of shit. I'd smack you as I promised my professor last year I would if I heard anyone saying stuff like that but unfortunately you aren't nearby..

I don't know about the US, but here there are laws (or maybe conventions) about rejecting change after a certain amount if it's unrolled. I imagine the same goes for bills if it's a big amount.

I've never heard of anything like that and afaik if its valid US currency it has to be accepted. Especially so for a government agency.

Or he could just not worry about it because at the end of the day even $50 isn't that big a deal. If its the girls first offense and shes been there awhile I see it as unlikely that she'll get in that much trouble. Besides, these kinds of losses are built into the system and its not really the customers job to minimize them. If you look at casinos you'll see that when handling the money really matters and making sure every cent ends up where it belongs that they're willing to pay more and hire decent(non-high school) employees.

Think of it as a 'bank error in your favor' from Monopoly!

Just looking on newegg, there's 1,000 feet for $75, which is $0.075/foot.  The $3.49 foot cable mentioned earlier is $0.1745/foot (plus whatever the cost of the ends are), so if you're running lots of cable, I think it's way worth it.

Not to mention running cable without the ends on it is way easier if you have to go through tight spaces!

I was looking at Cat6, oops. Yeah I can definitely see it being easier to run without ends but then again in the places I've lived there has never been a way to actually run cable aside from along the floor so it hasn't mattered much to me.
