General Discussion / Re: Driving while texting

I'm completely the opposite. When I had T9, I never got used to it. As soon as I got a full QWERTY keypad, I could type very fast without looking, like I was using a laptop keyboard with my thumbs. Now that I have a touch screen phone, it makes it more difficult. I avoid doing so while driving because it's dangerous, and illegal in California (other places too?).

Best efficienty-gain answer with lowest cost is to convince everyone that drives a Suburban to /wrists

But then you're left with a world of douchey Prius drivers!

I have them.

I dunno man.. when we were chillin at your sister's place, you didn't seem to have enough testicular fortitude to close anything with those girls that came over..

Did you just recently find your balls while in the navy with the other guys?

Having not seen all of Borat nor any of Bruno, I can't say whether or not this is true for them. However, when it comes to many other movies I've seen that promote this kind of humor, I'm fairly certain that's not the case. Maybe I just have a shitty selection of movies.
Name some?

There are definitely moves that I hate because of brainlessness. Superbad comes to mind. :)

Superbad was a HORRIBLE movie.

I'd like to hear some of the reasoning behind all the people knocking Superbad..

In my opinion, it was beautifully scripted and wonderfully acted. I know more than a few of the members of this forum can relate to those characters.

It's got almost 8 stars on IMDb, that has to count for something.

I've spent more than $3k on car stuff alone :p

It gets away from you if you don't watch yourself..
In all I have put about 1,500 in my car. but made about $400 back reselling stuff.

Oh, you can't factor in how you pay for stuff! That's cheating.. ;]

this summer I spent: $3,000 on crap
1,400 on my computer, keyboard, mouse
600 on my mountain bike + another 200 that I am about to spend.
500 on car stuff.
400 worth of food. (calculated from my bank statement, grocery visits included, along with fast food, and a Dinner cruise for the family of 10 but 4 people were free so I paid for 6 at the employee discount which was $300 )

To be honest, your car doesn't sound that bad. The only valid complaint is really the lack of a CD player. And maybe the transmission thing. But the rest... who cares? :P

And maybe no power windows. My 10 year old car has that! Must be a cheap-ass new car if it has manual windows still.. we're in the 21st century!

You only turn drinking age once, and Vegas is an amazing experience. I say, if the money's available (partying is expensive there), go for it!

Within 30 minutes of sending my email to customer support I had a voicemail with the number to CEO's office. They didn't mention any sort of reimbursement so I just asked for my deductible back, so they're going to send me a Visa giftcard. I'm happy.

That's pretty decent customer service. What type of phone/warranty program?

Motorola Q (but they sent me an upgraded Q 9m) and it's through Asurion. The deductible is $50 (but this phones available cheaper than $50 on eBay).

Unfortunately, they don't look like they provide a warranty for AT&T, specifically the iPhone. Only good warranty I've found is SquareTrade, but they ask $100 for 2 years.. that's a fifth of the price of the phone!

Did you happen to see anyone speak on this point about the iPhone being vulnerable to attack?

Met up with Armin today. That was cool. Hung out, played cards, watched TV, ate stew, made fun of towelie, etc.

Next step: meeting up with MyndFyre AND Armin. And then reenacting bangbus. Where we bang girls on the bus. But instead of a bus, it's the back of my truck. Unless MyndFyre has a cool van or something.

Or just salt river tubing. Less work for all of us.

Out of all the x86 people you've met so far, who's the coolest?!

Don't even bother if you're homophobic.
I got the opposite impression from seeing the commercials -- that it's basically a movie made for homophobes (or, at least, people who think homosexuality is a joke). Am I incorrect? (I don't pay much attention to commercials these days)

It's definitely meant to laugh at people who are severely homophobic.. Also, the gratuitous amounts of male nudity and blatantly gay EVERYTHING suggest that homophobic people would not be comfortable.
