If Helen Keller is alone in a forest and falls, does she make a sound?

Q:  Why does Helen Keller masturbate with one hand?
A:  So she can moan with the other!

Q:  What is the worst story Helen Keller ever read?
A:  A cheese grater

I like the masturbation one, hahahaha. The plunger one is my fav though  ;D

I think typing out the command is easier

How did Hellen Keller's parents punish her?
they left the plunger in the toilet

Why did Hellen Keller's dog jump off the cliff?

QuoteWhat are some likes and dislikes from the people that code it?
Likes:
- Fast and small binary files
Dislikes:
- After learning VB, this is hard++.

QuoteShould I learn another programming language before jumping into this one?
I think Java is a lot easier than C++, yet uses the same basic syntax, so you should probably learn a bit of that first.

QuoteWhat's a good compiler I can use on a WinXP box?
I settle for MSVC++.

yeah from what I've read, cpp is fast, but cant the binaries sometimes get really big too? I guess i'm sort of comparing this to asm. is it true that some asm binaries can be down to bytes even? like 25 bytes?

Godly. There's Mr. Ron and my handy dandy Linux encyclopedia. Mix all that with an inspiration to learn and boom! Magic!
(Don't forget the not shitty distro)

I see lots of stuff on here about Slackware. I think I'll try that out.

It is probably the most commonly asked question, but there's reason for that.

I always recommend buying a book to learn programming, math or any other thing that falls into the same general category.  I can't remember off hand the book I started learning with, but I'll try to find it.

Books are, in my opinion, the best way to learn because:
-- They're published.  They've almost certainly been revised and written with care.
-- They're more thourough than most internet tutorials.
  -- They're always there.  Websites aren't.
  -- They're usually more step-by-step.

what books do you think I should get?

Greetings.

I am trying to learn how to program, namely in C or C++. I was wondering if anyone could point me to the best places to learn.
My apologies if this has been asked over and over.

I don't use LILO. =(
Quotea more fun way would be to backup all ur stuff and rm -rf /*.

@Quik: I have sudo privlidges. I guess why it didn't work is because I was doing su instead.

EDIT -
joe@dave:~ $ sudo passwd root
Password:
Enter new UNIX password:
Retype new UNIX password:
passwd: password updated successfully

You are no fun  :o.
