Graphics / Photoshop Challenge 1
« on: June 17, 2009, 04:46:47 pm »
Okay, here's the deal, and this is probably going to be the same rulesets in future challenges, if this one is successful.  I'm going to post a picture, and two or three themes.  You take any amount of these themes, and photoshop the picture to reflect these themes in humorous or entertaining ways.  You may submit any number of photoshops, but please try to make them not suck.  By suck, I mean don't do really quick awful looking edits.  Put some effort into it.  Sucky images will make you look bad, and we will all make fun of you.

At the end of the contest (three weeks?) everyone will be able to vote on the best three images.  Whoever wins gets to help me pick the next challenge picture/themes (assuming this is successful).  Everyone can participate, including me.  Everyone will judge, including me.  In the case of a tie, The previous winner and I will decide which is the best.  Making a really funny joke is a good way to help your entry if you're not to good with editing tools.

All editing tools are allowed: Photoshop, Paint (Please don't), Corel (I'll laugh at you), Paint.Net, GIMP, etc.

Oh, and this is supposed to be for fun.  Don't ruin peoples fun by telling them they suck, unless they make a whole bunch of bad images, then we shall all laugh.

This will probably be edited/copyed to the next thread (and this one, the rules are subject to debate), if its successful.

You may post images, discuss images, or discuss anything related to the challenge in this thread.  Good luck.

Blizzard, WoW and Bots / Selling your WoW account
« on: June 11, 2009, 08:06:15 pm »
I've been trying to sell my WoW account for a while now, and thus far, no luck.

However, I have been noticing a trend on the messages I get back from prospective "buyers" (Read: Chinese who will strip your account and then cancel payment).

[19:56] Them: hey dude
[19:56] Them: r u there??
[19:56] Them: selling your wow acc still?
[19:56] Them: hey dude
[19:56] Them: hey dude
[19:56] Me: 0_o
[19:56] Me: You just sent me 5 messages in like, 3 seconds.
[19:56] Me: Sloooow down.
[19:57] Them: sry about that
[19:57] Them: have u sold your wow acc?
[19:57] Me: Talking to people about it right now, so maybe.
[19:58] Them: ok
[19:58] Them: what price range r u looking at?
[19:58] Me: 300
[19:59] Them: sounds fair
[19:59] Them: r u the original owner and have the full info?
[20:00] Me: Yep
[20:01] Them: is this an active acc?
[20:01] Them: have u linked the battlenet?

Hrm... This sound familiar!  Oh yeah, I just had this exact conversation a minute ago.

[19:53] Them: hey dude
[19:53] Them: r u there??
[19:53] Them: selling your wow acc still?
[19:53] Me: Hello, there.
[19:54] Me: Depends
[19:54] Them: what price range r u looking at?
[19:55] Me: 300
[19:57] Them: sounds fair
[19:57] Them: r u the original owner and have the full info?
[19:57] Me: Yep
[19:58] Them: is this an active acc?
[19:58] Me: No
[19:59] Them: have u linked the battlenet?

I've had this conversation with about 15 people in the last week.  It's getting old.  :(

So, they've been wasting my time, so I've had the idea of wasting their time.  Getting personal for no reason, just to see how far they'll go.  I'll post my logs if I get anything funny.  :)

Watch the video.  Google Wave is a new model for communication and collaboration on the web, coming later this year.  Think Email, IMs and everything in between, except better.

Gaming / Photoshop Competitions
« on: May 12, 2009, 01:21:00 am »
Inspired by recent posting in the Post your own picture thread, I'm wondering if anybody would actually be interested in taking part a photoshop competition?

We'll need a couple judges (3 max) that will pick a picture to photoshop from the internet or something, and then everyone who isn't a judge who wants to participate can submit a couple (hopefully) funny, weird, or whatever image.

I'd like to judge interest before we get too far with this.  Post here if you'd be interested in either being a judge (and not participating that week/session) or if you'd like to participate.
