Unix / Linux Discussion / KWin Crashes on startup.

I'm running Ubuntu 9.10, everytime I boot up Kwin immediately crashes and I have to use Metacity which I hate..haha. I would definitely consider myself a noob when it comes to linux.. so detail would be nice

I was curious to know how/if it's possible to go about forcing the OnPaint() event or the Update() function to be called through another application; I have the hwnd, and hdc of my control.

hey I've noticed this before in the past but never really felt like posting, but under general discussion I see "Just fuckin give to to me" but when I click on it, it goes to CrAz3D rant about his stolen ipod. When I click on the General Discussion tab the "Just fuckin give it to me" thread isn't even in there.

hey uh, I'm trying to setup an automated login for a website and I've been packet logging the login I've been coming across some problems.

My question is, when sending this information, do I have to send it in the exact order for it to work?

I thought from a while ago that the AIM data, such as the text being transferred back and forth is in plain text... any one have any input? I'm scrolling through Wireshark after sending text and I can't seem to see any of my text.
EDIT: I've been thinking, I know you can get certificates that secure your data (I don't have one) but I was wondering if anyone knew if the new AIM 6.8 automatically encrypts the data?

I saw a screen shot a while ago on vL about a kid who made a Winamp controller to work with in-game starcraft (a hack essentially), I was curious if anyone knows any standalone "hacks" or programs that allow you to use winamp in-game starcraft. I just find it annoying to go back and forth and I hate setting up playlists
