General Discussion / Need help with Adobe Premiere

I have Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and I'm having troubles with importing .AVI files.  I'm sure it's a matter of codec but there in lies the problem for I can not find which codec I need >.> .  Here's what happens: when I import an .AVI file it only imports the sound and only about 3 of the 23 minutes worth too.  Now trying to solve the codec problem I downloaded DivX.  Slight victory from this, now instead of the 3/23 of sound I get 3/23 of video.  This is where my lovely x86 come in, help a poor man out

[edit] Figured I might as well put some meaning into this post.  What server is everyone on?  or if there is already a post where most people have already stated this please direct me... I would like to know which servers to stay away from

Entertainment District / Do you like Metal music?

Bands like the old Metalica, Slayer also Lamb of God, Chimera, and the Haunted.  Well then might a make a slight suggestion that you are free to ignore or to browse on a slow day?  I play Bass in a metal band with influences from above stated bands, and if you would like to check out my band and perhaps give a little moral support by all means be my guest.  If you want to tell me to get a job and stop wasting my life, well then thats just dandy

Introductions! / I am new

Alright, well here is my formal introduction.  I'm a college student and I goto school with Sidoh, in fact he forced me subconsciously to create an account since he would not post my links of my band, which I will shortly here after post under Media.  Umm I'm a Zoology/Biology major, and I also play bass in a Metal band (for link to band see Media).  Well that seems like a cool introduction, alright.
