Blizzard, WoW and Bots / Re: 4.0 goes live today :o

Yup. All of the elemental invasion stuff is happening now. Deathwing should be flying over the zones in the next few weeks burning people to death. I managed to get my Warrior to level 80 about 2 weeks ago. Gearing up right now is so incredibly easy, even though it means nothing because the gear will be useless in a few weeks anyways. Within like 3 days of me hitting 80 I had 4 piece T10 already, lol. I haven't even stepped inside ICC, yet.

I started another Rogue ~5 days ago and she's been sitting at 58 waiting for my buddy to finish catching up.  Started up another Paladin ( 21 ) / Druid ( 32 ) too. :>  Rolling on a PvP server after having not been on one for a few years is fun.

Is there a reason why you're starting these new characters with only a month until there's entirely new questing experiences to be had? Also, why do you seem to level so many of the same type of characters instead of focusing entirely on one for a long time? I too have many level 80s, but none are repeats of the same class. I'm trying to focus entirely on my Warrior. It's going to become my "main" since I don't think I've ever truly treated any character as a main.

Bee Tee Dub - I returned that iMac because they released a new product line like a week later.  I just got the replacement.

Still a 27" @ 2560x1440.  Specs: Core i7 @ 2.93GHz.  8gb of memory @ 1333MHz (4x2gb).  250GB SSD + 2TB SATA drive.  Radeon HD 5750 w/ 1GB video memory.  Windows rates it as a 7.0 with the lowest subscore still being the primary hard drive; processor and memory get 7.5, both graphics scores get 7.2.

Are you running Windows in a VM? If not is there a reason you're spending all the money on an iMac just to install Windows on it? If it's the monitor you want you can buy their bad ass monitor.

I got that same i7 processor + mobo combo at Fry's Electronics as a packaged sale deal not long ago for ~$300. Basically a free mobo. Buying a 250GB SSD separately would be pretty expensive - not sure how much you paid for the iMac but I'm guessing near $2000. Could probably have save $500-800 building that same machine on your own. (without the expensive monitor included, which is kind of the clincher for iMacs, i guess)

Edit: Ok, after looking at the new iMacs, I'm going to raise my estimated cost of that iMac to closer to $3000, :P

Blizzard, WoW and Bots / Re: Who still plays regularly?

I'm getting terribly bored ( again).  Up to 11 80s ( everything + 2 DKs ) and spend so much time AFK in this game, it's unreal.  I've been trying to level a 2nd Shaman, but god 1-40 is incredibly slow.

QQ

Why oh why would you level 2 DKs, and 2 Shamans? Haha. Shaman is one of my least favorite classes in PvE.

I still play every day. Most days though I just log in and sit in Org for an hour and log off. I raid like 2 nights a week, and then I have nothing left to do in the game until the next week.

I had been pugging everything on my Paladin and Druid, but I just joined a newer guild on my Paladin last night. Hopefully they don't suck worse than pugs on my server. Most pugs on Korgath can clear up to LK every week. Most down Sindragosa, if people don't ninja log.

I have to say, after all of these years on WoW, and after having tried basically every class in a raid setting, my two favorites are Resto Druid and Prot Paladin. Druid healing is 100x more fun than any of the other healing classes, imo. You're not forced to stand still and cast, you can put out more healing per second that other healers and you never run out of mana. Prot Paladin is just fun in ICC because you basically just stand there every fight and collect loot. :P

Google has like an entire system operating system that their software runs on, I think. (Somebody does, maybe Facebook?)

I also bet in this scenario, high quality hard drives would help a ton. Drives with very fast read speeds would speed of queries quite a bit I think.

The top result in "Best Rating" for modular 801-900W modular power supplies is a Cosair, though it's $170.  I'm thinking about this PSU.

Corsair PSUs are the best.

Honestly, I'm not going to say I dislike any of this until I see it in action. Personally, I think all of this integration stuff *could* be really bad ass if executed properly. I'm already loving the RealID features added into WoW and SC2 Beta. I had a chance to see it in full effect last night with the SC2 Beta open again. It's really great - I've got friends from work, out of work, online, etc, all on my RealID friends list and it has surprisingly been really fun.

So yea, the First Last name issue and stuff is really a non-factor for me because I simply do not care. I don't go on the forums and troll people or tell people they're bad, usually. That's just a waste of my time anyways. I'm excited to see all of these changes - I can picture the end result: something like Steam. And, I see that Steam-like end result being really really bad ass.

While we've been arguing about my keyboard, I've been making all sorts of suggestions to rabbit about his new rig.  Why not you guys?

Because you're doing such a good fucking job of it, man. Keep it up. I only suggested getting a quality PSU because it blows donkey cock having to figure out what the fuck is causing your computer to reboot while playing a computer game, only to have it be your PSU. My only other advice would be to do what I did, just go buy an Intel i7, preferably with a mobo combo deal. Buy some kick ass RAM. Buy a Radeon 5870. Frag some faggots.

Go fuck yourself. It is obvious that you are not going to stop pushing your Real ID bullshit. Keep your social networking garbage the fuck out of my video games. You can take SC2, cataclysm, and diablo 3 and shove them, because I am done with you.

nerrrdd raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaage

I have a model M. It's not that great, unless I want to wake up the whole family when I'm doing homework late at night.
I disagree.  A large community of computer enthusiasts also disagree.

A dog ate a bowl of dog food yesterday, also.

Personally, I'd rather have the Steelseries g6v2. It's not out yet, though.

Don't get ATi or AMD!  The Intel core i7s use less power (130W max), they have QPI and turbo boost.  You're also getting a 6Gb/s motherboard with a 3Gb/s disk.  Why not spend an extra $40 on the 1TB WD with 6 Gb/s transfer rate (See list)?  You can also get an nVidia Fermi card for $350 that will play SC II with all settings turned up to maximum just fine.  Not to mention, the Fermi cards support both hardware DirectX 11 and OpenGL 3.x (The ATi one you listed shows only DirectX 11).

Here's my setup:

Price: ~ $1700 (with rebates and specials)

Picture ... too big to include in post.

is that a keyboard from the stone ages? haha. upgrade that, man.

Corsair is the only brand of PSU that I would ever recommend. They're the best, imo. Their 12v rails are always rated well.

I have previous experience with: slicehost, linode and rackspace. I'm a current linode and rackspace customer. All three I would recommend to anyone. I don't think the stats are as good as the vpsnoc one you mentioned. They're a few bucks cheaper, though. They all have amazing, AMERICAN, customer support.
