Thanks all :)  If anyone wants more details, I'd be happy to share in a less public setting.

I picked up an ASUS Transformer tablet on Black Friday and absolutely love it.   I grabbed the external dock/keyboard/extended battery which really makes it perfect.  ASUS did a great job designing this hardware well.  I use it as both a tablet and netbook almost seamlessly.  I could probably rave about it for an hour but I won't bore you and I normally don't rave anyway...so take that for what it is worth!

In other news, I'm a dad!

If you were just migrating your OS, the Windows 7 installer images now come with their own image backup/restore functionality that works just fine.  For daily/weekly backups, I would normally recommend something like Ghost.

For your case, neither of these tools are correct (Ghost could make an image, but its not really what you're wanting).  If it were me in this scenario, I would just load a linux VM/livecd and use dd :).

I've watched all of the previous seasons but am behind on the current one.  I prefer watching shows like this all at once...but Dexter is so dark that I have to make sure I don't watch more than 2-3 episodes in a given day :).

Core i3-2xxx (2nd gen) processors are pretty solid.  The integrated GPU is sufficient for everything except modern games and definitely low power.  I've heard that AMD is having some production issues with their latest Bulldozer chipset, but AMD does generally compete well at the budget end...I doubt you can go wrong with a budget processor either way.  You can always check the charts on tomshardware or anandtech to get the best bang for your buck.

By the way, now is probably a bad time to buy a budget laptop due to HDD shortages.  Most vendors are anticipating stock issues and prices are going up to match the increase in HDD prices.  Once those are resolved, I would recommend looking at Asus.  They are my current favorite laptop manufacturer for a simple reason: better quality than toshiba/gateway/dell/acer, lower price than lenovo/apple.  MSI is a newer player (in the branded laptop market) that I think could possibly hit this sweet spot as well.

I generally use nmap, but p0f suits some scenarios better.

I won't say that I never use salad dressing, but I rarely do.  I prefer the flavor of the actual vegetables[/fruits] in the salad!  Mmmm cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach leaves, fresh romaine (or if stuck with iceburg, the hearts), red bell peppers, and mushrooms.

Lagers & Pilsners:
Stella Artois
Becks (the Oktoberfest variety is especially good)
Grolsch
Tallgrass Kold (not "Cold")
Boulevard Pilsner
New Belgium Blue Paddle
Carlsberg
Pilsner Urquell
Rolling Rock (much lighter than the rest, good if you want something good yet drinkable but don't want or like Carona)
Warsteiner
Schlafly (summer variety is excellent)

Ales, traditional Pale Ales:
90 Shilling (wow)
New Belgium Fat Tire
Ad Astra Ale
Bodington's Pub Ale

Ambers:
Honey Brown (sweet, fairly unique)

IPAs:
Tallgrass IPA
Goose Island IPA

Bocks:
Shiner

Stouts:
Murphy's
Tallgrass Buffalo Sweat (a sweeter stout than most)

I can't drink wheat beer anymore, so I have no recommendations in that category.

I first found out about an hour ago.  Since, then, 11 different people have told me (not including this thread).  I am officially tired of this newsline.
