Arriving: Thursday, Oct 22 (late)
Leaving: Monday, Oct 26 (early)

If anybody is around that weekend. let me know!

I'm going to be presenting at Toorcon on my recent Nmap development. It promises to be a good time!

I said this in another thread, but I get a free ticket for myself and a friend, so if you WILL be in San Diego and want to check it out, just let me know (first come first serve).

Hopefully they post videos.. if they do, I'll post a link to mine. :)

The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.

Not yet! :)

Actually, I've presented a few times now, it isn't something that bothers me anymore. At least, that's what I tell myself...

In my opinion, presenting is all about preparation and confidence. I'm absolutely confident that I know the material (since I wrote it :D) and that the people are going to be interested in it, and I intend to spend a lot of time preparing, so I'm not worried.

Since you're presenting over material you wrote, that should make the whole experience less nerve-racking.  In all honesty though, the worst part for me is not the actual presentation, but instead everything up until I actually say the first few words.  I think that public speaking can be fun if you're talking about stuff you and the audience enjoys.  So just have fun with it and good luck. :)

It's going to be a lot of work to prepare everything, I don't doubt that. I actually want to present mostly on something I haven't even written yet.

Fortunately, I only have to fill a 20-minute slot. That's going to be difficult, since it's so short, but they didn't have enough 50-minutes to go around. :)

I know this doesn't apply to this situation, but this couldn't be less true in some cases. For example, looking at JavaOp2 code I wrote in '06.. :P

You might be right about that, Joe.
