Has anybody here had any luck with WINE? Just checking, since it has given me trouble in the past. Thinking about giving it another shot.

I use to play Q3 on Linux. But ATi can blow my nuts... I miss Linux gaming :(

Cedega works very well. 

Sadly, it's commercial.  But it has a free 15-day trial.  And there's always Bittorrent...

Without configuration / messing with installation parameters, I couldn't even get notepad to run.
