It took the iPod over a year to even generate noticeable revenue.

I hate people casting doubt over the Zune because it's Microsoft/because it didn't outsell the iPod like crazy. Give it time. Everyone thought the XBox would flop, and so far it hasn't seemed to die.

In fact, 1000 XBox 360s for sale at $100 caused Amazon.com to lag like a banshee, causing over 20 second page loading times, and they sold out within 5 minutes. If that. So much for hating Microsoft. ::)

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

trust

20 second? I had like a 10 minute page load time on Amazon...

I wouldn't go to a site like mac.com for news about Microsoft products.  I don't trust the sites of the distributer or of their main competition.  Finding a neutral third party would be a place to get news.

In my opinion, this thread is pointless. :P

RTFA

The link is a summary of apple's performance (a graph of revenue and product sales) over the past 6 years or so. No mention of the zune or microsoft anywhere in it.

Agreed. Nothing here says whether the zune is dead in the water or not. Newby's post talks more about the Xbox than the Zune.

Nah it was on Slashdot "Zune doing horrible" or something.
One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.

You haven't seen the billion "iPod has nothing to fear from Zune", "Microsoft #2 again", etc. articles all over the planet?

Nope, all I've seen is "Zune isn't as cool as it could be" and "Zune offers nothing special" and maybe even "Zune isn't the fabled iPod-killer"

IIRC the XBox was losing money near the second year of development. I seem to remember a figure like -$50 for each XBox made.
