So the widespread use of emojis these days kinda makes forum smileys pointless, yeah?

I used wowhead.com probably 20-30 times a day. It's a great site, and has recently been purchased by Blizzard for 9 million dollars. Crazy, eh? Unless it's an April fools thing. Not sure if it is or not, but it'd be crazy. The interview, and the fact that they hired the creators of the site, both sound a little fake - so now that I think about it, it's probably all fake. Damn. :(

It seems pretty seriously suited for an April Fool's joke, but I'm still way to suspicious to believe that it's true.

yeah. the interview though mentions something about removing paladins, or something, and adding a new race. obviously a joke, but they never downplay it, as if it's a serious comment, which sort of makes me think the whole thing is fake.

Obvious fake, and nowhere near the funniest this year.  :(  I hope they do something like Stealth did for April Fools a couple years ago.

You might be right about that, Joe.

Thottbot > WoWhead

Maybe in user base, but in features/look- I love Wowhead.  (Not to mention that Wowhead gets more thottbot/allakhazam users everyday)

Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.

WoWhead is so much better. It makes great use of AJAX, no ad's, and all-around better display of data.

As nice as AJAX is, it's dirty and should be avoided when it isn't necessary (or highly beneficial).  The javascript objects it uses were never meant to be used in the way that they are during AJAX routines.  Now, I'm not saying wowhead overuses it (primarily because I haven't visited it in a long time), but you should know that before you come to big an advocate for that reason.

I like alakazam or w/e it's called.

I found wowhead to be a lot cleaner.  Thottbot is slapped together and alakazam seems like it was pieced together from fragments of similar projects.
