Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann, who in 1943 accidentally discovered the hallucinogenic effects of Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), has died at the age of 102, Reuters reports.

Hoffman passed away at his home in Basel on 29 April as a result of a heart attack, according to the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies.

Obviously it was the drugs that killed him!

He was very much opposed to the use of it on a recreational level, as he was aiming to create an aid to psychiatry.

Regularly could be yearly. A lot of people do it regularly, and some religiously.

Yeah, that's exactly right. He only used it for the purposes of science, not recreation, so I doubt he used it often.
