Haha, I was actually initially confused for a few seconds, but then I realized he was talking about grams. :)

Most of the reason is that "g" is a shortened version of the WoW (and several other games) currency.

Actually, in Canada we measure everything in terms of "gold" :-P

And yeah, everything should be measured in grams/kilograms.  You stupid Americans just HAVE to be different! :-P

I've never heard that in a technical sense.  But who knows?

They also say that a "Jiffy" is a certain time measurement, but I don't believe it.
