After reading that other thread where Sidoh quoted Animal Farm:
QuoteAll animals are created equal, some are just more equal.
or something like that, I thought:

Are all people really created equal?
errr... something like that...

Hmm, according to Darwin's theories, there will be variance within a species... so if we're talking about physical equality, no.

Are all people really created equal?

Equal in what context?  If it's some sort of physical or mental property, of course not.  Isn't that blatantly obvious?

However, assigning people rights relative to their physical or mental qualities by default is foolish.  There is no reasonable evaluation that can determine one persons' productiveness, so it makes much more sense to give every person under the same flag the same set of rights, privileges and laws.

How about according to common sense?  Look around you.  People have different heights, body builds, hair colors, arm lengths, weights, etc.

Political theorists have two primary concepts of "equality" to which this refers: equality of opportunity and equality of outcome or result.

Socialism is based on the equality-of-result idea.  Everyone receives an equal share of society's triumphs; socialism also recognizes that some cannot contribute, and in varying degrees of socialism those people are either accounted for or left to fend for themselves.  In contrast, a capitalist society (generally) emphasizes equality of opportunity, in that everyone has the opportunity for *whatever*, but they are not guaranteed even the basics of survival.

All people aren't created equal, because I'm so much more awesome than everybody else.

No, not everyone is created equally.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

If you define equality as 'equally deserving', then I believe all people are created equal. However, can can quickly change.
