So I have three computers all connected to the same router/modem. Two of the three run Windows XP and the third one runs Windows Vista.

Computer1 (XP) can see Computer2 (XP) but not Computer3 (Vista).
Computer2 (XP) can't see neither Computer1 (XP) not Computer3 (Vista).
Computer3 (Vista) can see Computer2 (XP) but not Computer1 (XP).

The computers that can see each other can't access each other. It says something like Permission Denied.

I was hoping to set up file sharing and printer sharing.

I don't if this helps but the router is a 2Wire 1800HG.

Thanks for ANY help provided!

Joe

Are they all in the same workgroup?

Are the resources shared?

Are you using any hubs? If so, are you using crossover cables where necessary?

So the Vista guy tries to be friends with the XP guys, but the Vista guy has a security mechanism on it preventing anyone to access it's shared files.

Advice for Vista guy?

Joe

(21:34:28) [x86] Joe: I think it's a "feature"
(21:34:32) [x86] Joe: XP can't auth "properly"

EDIT -
The Vista guy. Hm, what to do with him? I suggest the bean explosion method -- a perminant solution to a temporary problem.

Sidoh

Most hubs that aren't 15 years old don't require crossover cables.  They have an uplink port.
