Does 2.3 not sound insane?
« on: October 17, 2007, 12:17:30 am »
Usually I skim over the patch notes, and just look at my classes changes and any thing else that might jump out at me. I read the first few lines of the new one, though, and continued reading the entire notes log. This patch sounds insane! Sadly I just finished leveling my warrior to 60, but character will now get from 20-60 much quicker, as well as have a slightly easier time with mobs while getting there. There's so many changes in this patch that I can't even imagine what it's going to be like! What it really sounds like they did though was just make anything provided by Deadly Boss Mods, as far as raid notifications go, a part of the game - on top of tons of other stuff. Man... ALL of this with the release of ZA, too! Crazy. This is going to change the game a lot.

edit: i forgot to mention, of course after i sell my priest they make priests fucking amazing. lol.

dey wuz watchin' u lawl.

But really, though, I'm looking forward to the easier leveling. I have a crap-ton of alts in the mid 20's where I gave up on them.
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

I wonder just how fast it really will be. They've increased experienced given by quests, and reduce the amount of experience required per level. I mean, in my opinion, 60-70 was much more fun than 1-60, and I did it in about a week. When the cap is raised to 80, it'll be interesting to hear how quick it is to go from 1-80. (damn, that sounds like so much work. lol)

Well, in Diablo II, you could do 1-40 in a day, 40-70 in another day, and 70-80 in another day. So... :P

My 40 rogue has 90700 total exp required for the next level on the normal server and 74300 on the test server. So along the lines of 20% less exp required. No idea if/how it scales between levels though, but that's a pretty big boost even without considering the quests giving more.

I also pugged ZA for a bit. We took down the first boss... so I can't see anyone who has done kara having problems on him. He hits real damn hard though, his cleave hit for like 12k on plate at least once, killing our tank.

you're supposed to have multiple tanks distributing the damage. He hits less when it hits more people.
One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.

Dude, 2.3 is going to ROCK.

Paladin changes
Quote
- Fanaticism will now reduce threat caused by all actions by 6/12/18/24/30%, in addition to its current effect.
- Blessing of Light: Lower ranks of Flash of Light and Holy Light are
now properly penalized when used with this Blessing.
- Cleanse and Purify range increased to 40 yards.
- Crusader Strike (Retribution) cooldown reduced from 10 to 6 seconds.
- Exorcism mana cost reduced.
- Hammer of Wrath mana cost reduced.
- Holy Wrath mana cost reduced.
- Improved Seal of the Crusader (Retribution) benefits folded into the
base spell. This talent now gives the benefits of the Sanctified
Crusader talent instead.
- Judgement of Light: The combat log will now show the mana gained from
rank 5 of this ability as Judgement of Light instead of Seal of Light.
- Pursuit of Justice (Retribution) is now 3 ranks and increases
movement speed by 5/10/15% and also reduces the chance you'll be hit
by spells by 1/2/3%.
- Sanctified Crusader (Retribution) renamed Sanctified Seals, which now
increases your chance to critically hit with all spells and melee
attacks by 1/2/3% and reduces the chance your Seals will be dispelled
by 33/66/100%.
- Vengeance (Retribution) duration increased from 15 to 30 seconds.
- Vindication (Retribution) frequency and duration increased and now
reduces all attributes by 5/10/15%, not just Strength and Agility.
- Weapon Expertise (Protection) renamed Combat Expertise, now increases
expertise by 1/2/3/4/5 and total Stamina by 2/4/6/8/10%.

Tankadins now got what they've been whining for! Stamina buff!

And Retribution is now sort of viable! We finally got threat reduction and a buff to our DPS. All we need now is for Blizzard to lessen the emphasis on SP and more on AP. Oh, and might I add, itemization! But, during BlizzCon, we were promised this stuff. Once 2.3 comes out, I'm renewing my subscription  :).

Paladins are so lame. They're already invincible when fighting most classes - the last thing they need is a stamina buff. Ugh.

I'm pretty pleased with the Rogue changes.

They butchered Warriors though.

First off: Imp Intercept (A skill that is only usable in BERZERKER STANCE) was moved to the Arms Tree (primarily BATTLE STANCE). Where the hell is the logic there? I mean giving Fury the Weapon Mastery Talent was nice but honestly..wtf?

Second off, Deathwish to the Arms Tree. That is a unneeded buff to Arms and a HUGE nerf to Fury. Most of Fury DPS is done in the last 20% of the Boss, when you Deathwish (+20% Damage Output for 10 seconds) and Execute Spam. We're losing a huge edge when we lose Deathwish.

What did we get in return? SWEEPING STRIKES? A near useless talent because it's cleave-like effects. Why the hell would this be in Fury? Useless.

What Fury needs is to keep Wep Master, take Enrage (Useless for PvE or fix it for PvE make it Proc off crits), Fix Rampage (Make it either auto-stack or last longer), and increase Shout durations to 5 minutes, 7 minutes with Talents.

Do this and you'll fix Warriors. Oh, and do something about Endless Rage for Arms. It's useless.
One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.

As a long time Paladin pointed out on our realm forums.  During a raid a retadin doesn't put out enough DPS to need a threat reduction.  Keep in mind this guy raids with almost every class, including a Warlock that gets almost constant 3k+ shadowbolts.
