His times are pretty weird, at least to me. I usually eat lunch between 12-2 and dinner around 8, and whenever else I'm hungry during the day.

It's perfect valid to use the 24-hour clock with a colon, unless "Army time" is different from the 24-hour clock?

i call it a 24 hour clock... most Americans dont use 24 hours tho cause they are lazy to learn. that is why we don't use the metric system. ( we are all to lazy to convert)

Lazy and economically undesirable are two different things.  While I strongly dislike imperial system of measurements, it's easy enough to steer away from it in scientific subjects.  I would definitely like to see the US steer toward using the Metric system, but I think we have other, more pressing issues to concern ourselves with at the moment.
