Good Whiskey!?!?!?!?!?!

Okay, so here's how it goes.  My friend has some AMAZING Whiskey, called Tel'Amor or something like that.  Another one of my friends has some Black Label, which I liked, and I've heard great things about Powers Gold.  Suggestions?

Knobb Creek is good.  I hear good stuff about Maker's Mark, but I'm not a fan.  Single Barrel Jack is good, but not sure if it's worth the price difference.

maker's mark is like the cheaper high-end stuff, or could be looked at as the expensive low-end stuff. either way, it's affordable and good. personally, i buy evan williams.

Are you planning on drinking it by itself or mixing it? If you plan on mixing with it just get Kentucky Gentleman or something, KG is my favorite cheap bourbon...it's tolerable if you do a shot but mostly you just use it for mixing so it doesn't matter if it's expensive whiskey or not.

it's pointless to get good whiskey if you're drinking. good whiskey is for drinking by itself out of a glass, maybe over ice or mixed with water. There's a lot of detail in the flavor, whereas with cheap whiskey you just get fucked up and you mix it.

bourbon and coke is my drink of choice though.
