it is fanart from circa 2007, called Knightmare. It's been taken off of the internet, and I mean it. Any site which ever had a trace of it has been contacted by Blizzard and it is mysteriously omitted.

It's also ss111.jpg in the Blizzard Fanart Site, the only one (Although more a question-marked) which you cant still find on their servers.

Tomorrow morning (4:00 AM EST) I should know if either one of my theories are correct at which point I will post it in it's entirety here.
It's a certainty that it's diablo, that's no longer being disputed -- but solving the puzzle is the fun part.

meh, todays teaser releases makes me doubt it's diablo iii, now. apparantly, here's a different version of the fan art image being constructued. http://img371.imageshack.us/img371/278/98774602tu2.jpg

looks like some retarded wow water mount, or new water related thing on wow. who knows. doesn't look diablo-ish at all, though. the new 'rune' icon on the teaser splash doesn't match any previous diablo runes, either. people have said it's the protoss race symbol.
