Post em!

I had high end B's going into the finals where I got A's on the final... but I still got a B in the class. And the only class I went in with an A, I got a B on the final, and a B in the class. I've been screwed over haha. My swim grade was an 89% too... so every grade was a B+ lol.

I validated it first day with a test lol. I got an 89% on it... so I took that over taking the class for a semester.

Sucks. I'm probably going to wind up with:

ECS 040: A
MAT 021D: Up in the air, I'm hoping for a B+.
PHY 009HC: B+, maybe A-. Depends on how I did on the midterm!

Granted, I do have another 4 weeks left in this quarter.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

That would be a hopeful guess so far. I think in math I'm going to literally have to ace the final to get even a C in the course. Ugh. :/

So I'm pretty sure that this final for programming will be an absolute joke, so I am gonna get an A in that course.

Physics I did better than I thought on the final, so there's a good chance I'll get a B in the course. Maybe even a B+!

Math... I'm debating just bombing the final, taking the D/F, and re-taking the course in the fall. I'll get an A then, because the professor will be reasonable, and if I wind up getting a C in this course (a good chance) I can't re-take and I'm stuck with the C. But if I get 100% on the final, I *could* pull a B-. Maaaybe.

It's an all or nothing. I'll totally study like I'm shooting for that B-, but if I walk in, feel like I won't do too hot on the final.

But none of you will read this, because you finished your spring classes. :P

Some profs will use your exam grade (or weight it really highly) if it is much better than your overall grade.

Newby

I guess we'll find out. I'm gonna study tonight like it matters, and then tomorrow at 1pm is my doomsday march.

I get the feeling the prof won't do that, though, since it's a good 200 people in the course, and I doubt he cares about any one person's grade.

He's my professor next fall, too.... I think I might drop that course and take the higher-level one (you prove linear algebra instead of learning it). It's supposed to be more useful.

Oh yeah, I took a good linear algebra course like that.  Possibly the best course I took in university.  I didn't get as good a mark as I would have with the other course, but in the long run, it was definitely worth it.

I'm pretty sure the "weighting the exam more" thing happened to me in a course with about 70-80 people.

In my two years I've never once encountered a professor/instructor in any class, large or small, that did that..

I think if a prof sees, for example, that a student was at 60% pre-final, and then gets 95% on the final, more often than not the final will be weighted more -- regardless of whether they explicitly tell the class.  Some profs won't do this, but I think they are in the minority.  (It would be more uncommon to do this in a class with multiple sections and different instructors for different sections).

I'm waiting on my math grade, that will determine it. But that's one class I was somewhat worried about, since I had a 73% (raw) and a lot of people passed exams that I, for some reason, couldn't.

Guess they all failed the quizzes and homework, which I dominated. :)
