Mine has been up since around 5pm CST. The new heroic is pretty fun and has some good gear drops. New boss in VoA, also.

Personally, I'm in favor of making the game friendlier to casual players, since I consider myself a casual to slightly-more-than casual player. I really like the emblem changes, I think that's great and makes me feel like I can enjoy fun items, too, without being in a raiding guild full of retard assholes.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the 'vehicles' or 'mounted combat', whatever you want to call it.  But epics on normal mode is nice and it's pretty quick, so.

The mounted part is short enough that it doesn't bother me, dungeon is quick and fun. Thankfully I managed to do it and the daily heroic during the ~1 hour my server was up last night.

Black Knight is pretty healing intense, I ended up dying on my Shaman right before we killed him.  Healing the party and the 7k+ hits on myself were a little bit of a pain.

the black knight is easy, if youve got a DK in the group. just counter his army of the dead with the DK's. the lady boss, 2nd boss i think, can be pretty hard when she summons the dragon or murloc thing. its weird, we ran it 5 times in a row and she didnt summon anything until the last attempt and we all wiped because we had no clue what she was doing lol.

the gears pretty crappy in the normal 5 man if you've got any naxx gear already. that gears is basically for new level 80s to go farm and get caught up to naxx-level gear quickly. (which i like, no more spending tons of gold at 80 on items). i havent done it on heroic yet, or 25 man yet, but i can imagine the gear is pretty kick ass.

Didn't have a problem at all with the lady, just the Knight.  He marked me or w/e the hell he does and it was a pain in the ass.

There are 2 different bosses that you can get for the second boss, only one of them summons another mob

ah. well, without the summoning boss, that place is insanely easy on normal 5 man. it's just free gear, haha. i died once my first time in there right after dismounting, because i auto-swung a mob on accident and it killed me before tank got to it. i tried finding the loot table for the place, though, and couldn't find it. all i ever saw drop was a ton of plate. our pally got a completely new ret set from there in 1 run. lol.

Downfall to 3.2:  People ( some, not all obviously ) are expecting you to be 'geared' for Heroics.  I went to do a H-ToC this morning with my brother on my Mage and the douchebag Rogue we had left bitching about not wanting to 'carry' me.  I didn't know my 2k+ DPS wasn't sufficient for Heroics anymore.

ToC is to Wrath is as MGT was to BC. You need to be geared for it.

2k dps is fine for ToC, I've done it successfully with 3 scrub dps doing less than me as the tank. Just need a good healer!

regular 5 man ToC is easier than most older 5 man heroics. anyone can do regular 5 man ToC in just-80 blues. heroic 5 man toc isnt much harder.

id say dont go into 10 man toc without being slightly geared though. i agree that "want geared people for heroics" is gay, though. lol.

Regular ToC can be farmed by a group of 78+.  I had every cloth piece on my Mage from normal, aside from the shoulders before I hit 80.

Heroic ToC isn't much harder, it requires people to have half a brain.

The whole "looking for geared people for heroic 5 mans" thing has kind of blown over, on my server. Everyone has their conq badge pieces now, so it's back to normal. As soon as 3.2 came out I had just finished getting all the heroic 5 man gear I needed, so I was burned out on them, so I've still got like 20 badges to go before I can get my helm. I've got my chest piece.

I did a constant 4.5k dps in heroic voa today, though. Was pretty happy about that.

Really? Is your mage already like 4.5k gear score in less than a week? Highest DPS I've seen on my own Recount so far was by a Warlock using Incinerate, and he did 6k dps in VoA. That's followed by another 4.5k gear score Mage in OS 25, I think, doing like ~5.5k.

I've put a lot of work into my Hunters gear, compared to my other 80s, and I've enchanted and gemmed everything as good as I can get it. I've min/maxed everything using femaledwarf.com (a hunter max dps site). 4.5k was the best I've gotten, despite the femaledwarf site saying I should be pulling 6.3k completely raid buffed on a boss like Patchwerk (one of the only real bosses that you can rate actual constant dps on just becauses its a literal tank n spank dps race).

Actually, now that I think about it, I haven't even respec'd to drop my hit rating talent points yet. lol. I don't need them anymore, and there's a few talents that'll increase my maximum dps.

Holy crap. I just respec'd to drop Focused Aim, since I no longer need hit rating help from talents, and I realized that I hadn't ever trained Black Arrow beyond rank 1. Black Arrow is my second highest priority attack. I should see a huge dps increase in my next Naxx 25 run - hopefully.

Gear score, yes. It's not necesarilly new. It's not shit, either, really - unless you're on the low end of it and get called out, which I have been before. Sure, player skill is always nice, and is more important than gear in the reversed situation you mentioned. But, in the typical scenario, somebody with low end gear has a maximum amount of dps they can do despite skill. This is where gear score comes in handy when you're looking for a fast and easy Naxx 25 run, or Ulduar run. I'd say the most common average dps that I see from day to day would be 3-3.5k dps. When I see 4k or higher, I know that person has put some time and effort into their gear, gems and enchants, usually - unless they've just been carried and geared through Ulduar and have no gems or enchants, heh.

I wasn't really gloating, either. heh. I'll be gloating if I ever find myself doing 6k like the damn Warlock I saw.

Especially with loot now being easily obtainable, gear =/= skill.  Between VoA, ToC and badge gear you can obtain 4/5 T8.5 and Ulduar level gear with a few weeks ( at most ) of farming.  Like this morning, a 'well geared Mage' was in LFG.  Yeah, he had 4/5 T8.  Yeah he was socketing hit + spirit while WAY over the hit cap.

On a side note, it's such a pain in the ass to find a group as a DPS DK.  Too many baddies giving decent players bad rep.

Edit:  I wasn't saying the gear scoring was new, but I'm seeing a lot more people looking at it as a sign of skill in general, which is why I said 'new found fascination'.

ah. yea, a big trend i've seen in 5 man heroics, because of the conq badges, is well geared people doing worse than new 80s in all greens/blues. I wiped more in AN with a group of all Ulduar geared people than I think I ever had before 3.2.

I quit playing my DK all together because of that. I leveled one to 80 right when wotlk came out, and while everyone was on their DK. It was horrible. You couldn't get into anything. It's still sort of like that if you count Paladins, on my server. DK and Paladins make up a large portion of the people. I'm usually the only Hunter in any 10 man, and I've been the only Hunter in 25 Naxx several times. lol. I like it

Yeah I think the gear score thing is silly as well, but I understand why people do it. If doing something harder than heroics/naxx or whatever I usually just look at their gems/enchants/spec/glyphs, but I realize that a large majority of people probably can't do that for every class and see things that are clearly wrong, so they just want something easy to look at to give them an idea of where the person is at gear wise.

And yeah being a dps DK is rough, I eventually just put together a crappy but good enough tank set for pug heroics/naxx level stuff and started making my own groups so I didn't have to deal with it. But I put a lot of work into my DK's gear with the little that I raid, and I know a lot of people in the higher end guilds on my server so I can usually squeeze my way into the occasional good groups for whatever. It's like real life, networking is important!

Heh.  I just came back from awhile of not raiding ( 2-3 months, give or take ) and the guild has a few sets of Uld10 groups that go for hardmodes, they asked me to come in the better of the groups and we took out about half of them.  Hardmode Mimiron is a killer pain in the ass btw.

^ I've been playing with different gear setups.  I can get to just shy of 600 haste and drop as low as 400.  Guild has downed Yogg25, the day I was supposed to come back to raiding again   And of course I missed out on the 10man and 25man 3D's they did awhile back and still haven't had a chance to get either.

Finished 10 man ToC, super easy. 10 man heroic is pretty challenging, we had crappy tanks/healers so we stopped so people didn't waste attempts.

Yea, we just finished 10 man ToC tonight, also. We wiped 4-5 times on Anub before we got it down. We were putting too much emphasis on the permaphrosts, and not enough dps onto the boss itself. The adds gave us problems, too, until the tank realized he could interupt their burrow cast. Once we got that all in line we downed him. Phase 3 was hilariously fun. One of our healers was dead, and everyone in the raid was about 30% health, and the main tank was like "popping all tank cooldowns. burn him" and it just seemed like forever. haha. it was intense.

We haven't tried 10 man heroic, yet. Probably tomorrow night. We've been failing in 25 man. We couldn't get passed the faction champions last week cause our 2 main healers were out of town. I don't know if I think our 25 man group will down AnubArak, though. =X

Anub only took us 2 tries, everything before p3 is a joke. I think we just had a hunter focus mostly on shooting the frost things down. On the adds, you don't need to interrupt the burrow cast, just tank them over ice and they can't burrow (read the debuff you get when standing on the ice, it tells you this). And yeah P3 was pretty nasty because we weren't expecting the kind of damage that the life leeching debuff did, our MT died, the OT picked it up and died, but so we battle rez'd the MT and ended up not wiping somehow. And I want to do 25 mans, but I'm currently having a lot of fun doing 1 night a week of 10 man stuff with a good guild, and since I'm starting school next week I don't think I can commit to any more

Our server was lagging so bad we had a hard time downing faction champs ( Resto Shaman, Resto Druid, Holy Paladin, Moonkin, DK, Arms Warrior, Balance Druid, Warlock, Hunter and Rogue ).  And then people were half asleep on the Twin Valks so we didn't even get to Anub last night.
